OCUK Rolling Road Day 11 @ Eurospec (Guildford) - Sat 19th March 2011

Put me down as a maybe runner. If I get my Clio 172 sorted by then ill run it (and then subsequently rename it. Anything less than 150bhp and I might just leave it there :(). If its not up to scratch ill come as a spectator.

Stick me down as a maybe, because if I say yes then it reduces my chance of actually turning up. I've never been to a rolling road day, so should probably make an effort :)

Can I be moved to a spectator now please? The NHS have actually decided to schedule my operation on the 10th of next month, so I won't be driving (well, its very very unlikely anyway).

Thankfully I should be passenger in Howard's car though.

Would love to come but it'll cost me £120 in fuel alone and I'm planning a trackday the weekend before so my finances just won't stretch to both :(

I will be driving my 3 litre car from Devon to the RR via Southampton on the way up and your town of Malvern on the way back. All this won't cost 120 quid so I don't know how you think just Malvern to the rr and back will!

£120 to do ~250 miles...what do you drive to achieve such awesome mpg?
'99 Impreza, I just can't drive at a constant 70mph on the motorway no matter how hard I try I always end up doing 90mph. That means around 20mpg and add on the fuel I'd use having a 'spirited' drive after the RR (probably getting 12 -15mpg if I'm lucky) and I'll easily spend £120 on fuel. Perhaps 300 miles rather than 250 for £120 but it's still pretty horrific.

Yeah but you drive a BMW with an amazingly efficient engine considering its power output, I drive an Impreza with **** poor fuel economy. Plus I'm sure you're far more disciplined on the motorway than me and will stick to 70mph! :p

In all fairness your car will do a lot better economy than an Impreza. Much more efficient engine and not 4WD. You will easily get better economy.

£120 is a touch extreme though. I was thinking more along the lines of £80 for my similar journey.

You've got a 6 speed box though ;) I'm guessing a combination of having that and sticking to 70mph would result in fairly reasonable economy. Of course I could just stop being a **** and stick to 70mph on the motorway :p Out of interest how much are you paying for SUL in brum? I have to use Texaco SUL here and it's currently £1.39 a litre :(
