OcUK Rolling Road Day 16 @ PowerStation (Tewksbury) - Saturday November 16th 2013

9600rpm on the s2000?!

Maybe just the dyno not alligned with the revs quite right maybe, like my run I think they took it upto 8300rpm, but dyno plot only goes upto 7800rpm, so probably just revs not quite perfectly alligned.

Or maybe it was modified in some way, no way of knowing unless the owner post up.

237hp stock in UK. 250 is JDM

Mine made 259.9hp at its last power station visit.

They rev to 9000rpm. My sig is wrong as it was based on my PS reading. I guess they use the 3000rpm method for setting engine speed. If it was modded to 9600 it would have a very different shaped plot as it would also be on something like AEM

Oh and the skewed rpm readings will affect the torque measurements too as the dyno back calculates torque off engine power and RPM. 'Stretching' the rpm range will mean a lower torque value

That probably explains why the torque on my M3 seems high then, even without the remap as the rpm on the printout is lower than the actual cars rpm a little. So in effect the opposite to what your saying as mine had the rpm range shortened giving a higher torque figure.

Impressive power regardless for a motor without cams or CSL airbox.

Well I wanted the remap mainly for the rev matching which is absolutely brilliant and to stop getting codes from cats and SAP delete. I never expected that much of a gain from a remap on an NA.

But Evolve come highly recommend by people world wide, great considering they are British based for BMW tuning, so went with it.

When I loaded the map on the most noticeable change were flat spots in 2500-3500rpm range were cured and there was more urgency. But beyond 6000rpm it pull way harder and the power never seem to fall off as before, just pulled harder to redline and well dyno backs up what I felt. :)

So guess the S54 engine is one of those which takes well to a remap or BMW held it back on purpose as they had CSL model planned all along. To be honest I can't see a CSL air box giving me any more power now or be minimal, noise however would be epic. I know ones on cams making 380ish but lot of money for little gains which effect drivability in a negative way.

That's the thing now mate, any more power is going to cost £££, is it really worth it? Because I think you are near the limit NA without spending silly money and any upgrades now will not be noticed on track. Focus on suspension, brakes and such like IMO.

Nope, leaving as is, the remap has woken the car up, now focus on getting weight down further within reason and other finishing touches.

End of the day if I get it too 1300kg, that's 282BHP per tonne, more than enough for track work to be very handy. :)

Remove that handbrake gaiter, that'll save a few grams. Every time I looked in the car I couldn't help but find it irritating that everything was stripped dash back apart from that gaiter! :p

Glad someone else spotted that, it was irritating me more than it should have :p

Looks like you had a good one guys, nice pics and vids, gutted I couldn't make it but instead I was buying a new Evo 6 rolling shell to re-shell my 4 into, so at the next RR day I will be in the new Evo hopefully with a Garrett GT3076r attached to it :D

Great to see you guys and meet new faces.

Hope you enjoyed your spin Will and the little slide didn't bring back too many memories of the Honda :p

Good to meet you :) enjoyed the 350z, pretty refined and I can see how good an 'everyday' car it'd be...certainly better than my MX-5 and the S2000 I had (both are less spacious and less refined and more mechanically noisy).

Had to dash off quite early so missed the pub, good to see all the familiar faces though...will be along to the next one, hopefully with a few more mods for the car and a bit more power :D

Hi there

Well I am back at Powerstation on 7th December, not for a power-run but to get the corner weighting and alignment finally done.

Does anyone know a good UK stockist for Braille batteries? Might as well throw in a lightweight battery whilst I am at it. :)
