My cambelt will snap on track at the end of April anyway so would have to cancel then last minute so this gives some prior notice.

Yes indeed, well I have a rather different plan this time. I am going to simply buy the car outright, I'll be buying used and spending a lot less money, less than the 330 is worth now. I do about 6-7k miles a year now which is less than half what I used to do, I have savings and I have no desire to waste money. Also I don't want to get tied into any kind of agreements or debt, I just want to own the car, and thus be able to change it whenever I feel like it. I don't want to spend more than I can comfortably afford, no stretching myself to the limit when it's not needed.

I just wish there were some nice E39 540/530i's sports around with manual gear boxes, really good ones seem pretty scarce now.

Yea, that was over 2 years ago now though right? ...when I looked around at them when I was looking for my 3, there were quite a few nice examples with the right specs around then, they seem to have largely vanished now. I suppose one will turn up eventually. Head says 530i ..heart and ears say 540i ...hmmm ...actually I lie, my heart says Mustang GT, but I'll get over it

Easily do-able. In that time I'll be getting the wheels refurbed, attempting to source a couple of peices of replacement interior trim, and possibly even get it machine polished.
