OCUK Rolling Road Day 9 - Its booked!

Noooo :p I went out for a passenger ride in the Rover of most awesome diesel goodness and the extra weight must have broke it. Cue much laughter when we returned to the pub carpark.

My car performed pretty much flawlessly all day! Well impressed with my result. Even if the rollers were over-reading, that still makes it 235-240bhp at stock boost which shows that the engine is still in very good health despite its age and milage.

Awesome day, nice to see everyone again and nice to meet new people! Looking forward to the pics. I'll get working on the video ASAP.

Oh dear! My boost pipes are all still intact fortunately, It was a real fingers crossed drive this morning as I've not actually been on a proper long run since installing my intercooler.

Your car is brill, I bet it catches a fair few people out the olde slipper mobile heh, it gave my ears a good seeing to whilst on the RR though :o

I can't wait for the next one! Was great to finally put some faces to names although I didn't get round everyone. Hopefully get the new uprated clutch fitted and get a new map on 155bhp and 260ft/lb

Thats nothing, Skeeter and I saw a Citroen C5 utterly ingulfed in flames!

I dont care if your in a hotel, or your usb lead is somewhere else, we need that pic on here, and we need it NOW! A C5 in flames is something the whole world should enjoy.

For those of you who didnt notice the scroch marks, the traffic we encountered on the way back was because of the number of people who broke down or cooked their clutch whilst stuck in traffic behind the burning C5. All that was left by that point was some black marks on the road and a pile of bunt bodywork on the grass.

Well I got more than I had thought which was brilliant. I expected ~170BHP as mine is old and even though I have service history I expected it to be dodgy. Got 206BHP which I think was a little above what it is actually at, but I'm well chuffed with that.

Thanks all that turned up, you guys made it quite easy to organise and get everyone running in a decent order.

As for those that didn't turn up and didn't tell me, not impressed and shame on you! I had to drag people that had no intention of running onto the rollers to ensure we had 15!

Brilliant day over all though. It was good to see new faces and expand the OcUK motors family. :)

I'm knackered and totally broken from getting up at 4:30 but I really enjoyed myself today.

Thanks to Rob for the transport :)

And thanks to Garry, Andy, Neil and MrLOL (didn't catch your name mate) for scaring me silly :D

and I leave you with this:

this is what I was hoping to get on the rollers but it never surfaced as it was having the decals and seats put in it. :(

Oh, I forgot to say. Thanks Garry for the ride in the back of your awesome family wagon, that thing is brilliant. :D

And Andy, cheers for the ride in the 420 Turbo...it's so much quicker/more of a kick than the previous turbo, loving it. :D

EDIT:

I'd also like to say I hope everyone enjoyed the day. There were a lot of bored faces when cars were running (not always the most interesting thing to watch), and most people got bored before the 'stang ran so went to the pub early.

Who wrote **** on the back of Rover416s derv with what looks like toothpaste? lol

LOL

I wonder if he made it back alright? :o

Also.. before I forget, did anyone else think that the lad spraying the sticky tack stuff onto the tyres was Nokinideas son?

A couple of people asked, and the kid threatened to hit them. \o/

They are not related, just have the same hair. :p

ah ha ha, I don't know if you were in the room! But I asked Nokinidea at the end and the kid asked me if I wanted a slap :D
