OCUK Rolling Road Day 9 - Its booked!

Does anyone here have a piccy of mine on the Rollers? I'm sure I saw someone taking one. I'd be very grateful for a copy if poss please :)
 
Was another good day, nice to meet the usual faces and some new ones too.
The fuel light came on not far from home with only 150 miles on the trip, some serious fuel usage today :p

Heh, cheers dude. Glad you liked it. Yeah I've watched the video and it distorts whenever the DV goes off :o Doesn't sound that loud from inside the car, honest!

LOL, no probs, and thanks :) Was gonna ask for a pass. ride in the 420 but didn't get around to it!


How did the video turn out, sound quality-wise? Did the noise of the engines not distort things?
 
The video turned out pretty well, engine noise easily drowns out the noise of the fans... can't hear any distortion apart from my when my dump valve went off.

TaKeN turned to me with a look of disgust on his face as though his ears had melted :D

Yep, I was the grinning idiot in the grey Adidas shirt :D

Your car was a close second to the Exige in terms of mentalness, I really wasn't expecting it to be that quick, it really took me by surprise. I couldn't believe you said it felt slow with the 4 of us in it, didn't feel slow to me! Awesome stuff :D

My car felt so slow on the way home, even though we got to similar speeds to Andy did on the runs in a reasonably quick time...that's the thing about BMWs, they just don't show you the speed compared to other cars.
 
\o/ the bloke who created my 120map.. is emailing me over the 150-155map for free :eek:

I showed him the results from the dyno and he's trying to figure out why the wheel figure is so low! I told him to ignore it as the dyno rollers are squeezing the wheels and creating excessive drag, Can anyone confirm if thats why it should be ignored?

Your car felt slow? I had to drive home in a 88bhp Fiesta, it didn't even feel like I was moving! :p

Your right about BMWs being deceptive, even at high speed it didn't feel that quick. It pulls very well for a car with 170k+ on the clock though! :)

Correct. Due to the fact there are two contact patches and the rollers are squeezing the tyres you end up with an incorrect at the wheel figure. :)

I need to give it a fluid change as it's I'm not sure when it was all last one, and the gearbox is a bugger some times and doesn't want to go into gear.

I was still convoying with Howard and Garry, plus I had passengers so didn't want to drive like a BMW driver. :p

Although we saw 'FA5T ONE' number plate on the back of a Porsche that went past, so we caught up to get some photos. :D

I was also playing later on once I'd dropped off Vigoro and was accelerating sharpish, but it just doesn't feel like it compared to Andy's Rover or Garry's Legnum...but they do both have more power than me. :p
 
talking of seeing things on the way home.. I saw a Red Corsa (old shape) with what looked like a 'Turbo Daily' badge off an Iveco van stuck to the boot :\
