OcUK RTX4070 review thread

The 3060 (non-ti) one was alright but probably just because it didn't have to dissipate a lot of heat to begin with.
Lowest one I tried was a 3060Ti and that was pretty crap at stock. Undervolted with a custom fan curve tamed it somewhat but it still wasn't perfect. Was glad to sell it to a miner for £100 profit :D

A colleague (friend) at work has offered me a 4070 for £300. It's about a month old and barely used - there's nothing wrong with it. It's the Asus TUF Gaming 4070.

I currently have a 6700 XT which I'd sell so it ends up being fairly cheap really.

I wasn't looking to change my gfx card as it does well enough for me but for £300 it seems a good deal?

That is a decent deal.

That's a good idea, i take it tho it will need a compatible Asus motherboard?

I could never understand why GPU manufacturers don't put the connector on the other side of the GPU (slightly recessed to allow for safe cable bend or a right angled connector) and maybe have a small GPU cable window in the mobo so they can go straight to the PSU without being seen.

Manufacturing costs,

They built a machine to build it on one side, why change it.

Asus will force it because of ROG branding and providing additional funds for the machining to keep them centric to game / pc enthusiasts, meaning more motherboard and exclusive card sales.

This in turn will make the market switch to a different model and force them to absorb the cost or lose sales.

Surprised it too anyone this long tbh.
