Can we not just agree that blower coolers are terrible compared to a good AIB. That is the reality whether it's Nvidia or AMD. AMD's do tend to be worse than Nvidia's but both sides blowers are usually not ideal. People usually only get blowers because they are what's available at launch or for water.

RDNA shows massive improvements over GCN in games that GCN traditionally fell far behind in.

Blowers can be more than good enough though.
Nobody's holding AMD to gunpoint to end up with gimped reviews because they won't change their cooler.

If 5700XT had better cooling the reviews would be more positive in that regard.

It's not rocket science.

Am more than impressed with the results of Navi 5700 XT just need to wait for the AIB now. Hopefully its not a long wait and hoping pricing isn't two bad either £380 for Ref I be happy paying £430 its less than what I paid for VEGA 64 at £470

I'm certainly interested in a possible 64CU version with configurable RT/Raster cores if the chatter is true :)

Yeah
Navi 20 next year hopefully :D
I'll pass this Navi 5700 XT down to my nephew.

I bought the ref VEGA 64 because at the time I had the courage to try and custom water cool lol that didn't happen I even bought a water block unused sitting there wasted £100. Might try and sell them both on together haa

Yeah, I was more than pleased when I saw the prices. Makes a nice changed compared to them just changing teh dollar sign to a pounds sterling on the msrp.

OCing and better cooled parts will put Navi 10 far closer to a 2070s and VII.

Apparently the VII overclocks extremely well with good cooling. So the Navi's might also, being on 7nm.

I don't think there is an outcry about performance, just the cooler and the price. There is no point in calling the Nvidia price crap and then calling the AMD price ok?
Depend what you refer as Nvidia and AMD pricing;

(Crap) Nvidia's RTX launch pricing: 2070 at £450~£500+, 2080 at £800+, 2080ti at £1200+
(Awesome) 2070S: Close (enough) to 2080 performance and at £475~£500+
(Good) 2060S: at £380~400+: Decisively beat a stock 5700, but not when the 5700 is overclocked to the same as or beyond the clock speed of the 5700XT, lesser of overclocking headroom than the 2070
(Great) 5700XT: faster than the 2070 and 2060S at £380
(Great) 5700: faster than the 2060 6GB at £330 and with 2GB more vram, lots of overclocking headroom can easily match the 2060S with both end-up trading blow.

As a whole from consumer's POV though rather than just pricing relative to what's currently on the market, ALL the graphic cards could do with another £50 reduction.

I really wish amd and nvidia would both put the final nail in the coffin for blower coolers for gaming centric gpu's, all they do is hamper performance and cause headache.
