OCUK Sandy Bridge, SB-E and Ivy Bridge 5GHZ Club

Guys, I cannot seem to go above 4.8 with my i7 2600k and P67-UD7!
Any help?

I am using the P67-UD7. When you say you can't go above 4.8 do you mean the post screen stays at 4.8 or are you locking up at 4.8. I had a situation where my POST screen refused to let me go higher than 4.7 until I re-installed the bios (F8x in my case or F7e/F7f for others)

Wow...was going to go for a 'budget build' as my next upgrade (i.e. i5 / AMD), however the speed of these are very impressive...my e2180 @ 3ghx does super pi in 21 seconds!

These things really that easy to clock to 5ghz??

Hey ging,

You bear in mind they are not easy to get to 5Ghz, and the bulk of these will not be considered 'stable' at this speed. They are enough to run a small superpi, but most likely not to run all day at that speed under a reasonable amount of load.

I'd imagine you can easily get 4.4, I think more than that at reasonable voltage is just luck of the draw.

I can post my settings if it will help. If allowed of course.

Bloodhunter is quite correct. I would never try to run 5.4 for more than a benching session (I know, you couldn't anyway;)).

It would help mate

My POST won't go past first screen. Where can I download this mate? I have just installed F7f and it seems the problem persists

^^How is there a newer version of my bios on that link than the one on gigabyte's website? lol

Got the latest off Gigabyte and that was version F4, that link shows version F5b - checking gigabyte's site again in case there's another update....... otherwise that's just strange lol

Yep, F4 is the latest on there... Would F5b be a beta bios that never got officially released?

The offical Gigabyte site shows only final release bios's as a rule

The link I posted is for the beta bios. And if you want to go above 5GHz you will need a bios that allows Pll overvolt enable - PLL overrider in other words.

did another one with some auto settings this time

tfc475

Don't stress it tfc475

Looks like we have our newest member.

Welcome mate.

I think that is what you were trying to do yeah?

Use the image tags. They can be found using the icon with the yellow sky and the mountain; ;)

If I want to go above 5GHz I'm going to need a bloody miracle LOL

Would that bios give me more modifier options? My current bios doesn't give me much to choose from :( and I don't really want to flash it again (panicked enough doing it once lol) especially with a beta bios that may or may not be fully stable... oppinions please? :D

hey mate, how you getting on with these? I am pretty sure mine is of the same batch number but I'm unable to test yet as with the mobo chipset issues I am holding out for a Z67 board.

I'm eager to see how well these clock lol!
