OCUK Sandy Bridge, SB-E and Ivy Bridge 5GHZ Club

Been up to around 5.6Ghz on water with around 1.62V but not for long....

My cpu will post at a 57 multiplier so I'm looking to get into water chilling so see if I have the balls to Pi at that speed LOL !

well here is my try at pi

Thanks buzz

It was mty first time overclocking it,
Been waiting for the parts and just wanted to enjoy it before playing with it lol,

Parts are:
Corsair Hydro H100
Asus Maximus IV Extreme
Intel Core i7-2600K 3.40GHz
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 6990
Corsair Obsidian 800D (6GB/s)
G.Skill RipJawsX 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz
Corsair Force Series 3 120GB SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Drive
Corsair Professional Series AX1200 High Performance 1200W

Managed to get the volts a bit lower but as i got the screen shot cup-z changed to 4995.8MHZ

But other than that i will have a play about some other time soon.

That board is good, have you run prime yet? I can post 5ghz at 1.4 but as soon as I hit blend on prime BOOM bsod 101 ( more vcore! ) :D

I have just built a new rig with pretty much the same gear as you except I have an asrock fatal1ty board and corsair vengeance 1600mhz 8-8-8-24 ram oc'd to 8-10-8-27 1866mhz

Do you have the h100 push pull or just the two stock fans?

Hey buzz

Not done prime yet,
Got the H100 on push (stock fans ) / Pull using 120mm Viper fans.

ahhhh yes prime will be a different thing all together! i doubt it will be stable for long on 1.38v

i used stock fans but damn they noisy! i swapped them for four vipers and it really helps to keep temps down.

have you tried to push any further yet?

i think you have a gem of a chip there, i thought i had a good one but if you can do four hours of prime sub 1.4v i will be very jealous ;)

let me know how it goes

I use water too with fans, but has excellent cooling performance allowing you to overclock even more!

Even if you run Prime for hours on end! Its not guaranteed to be 100% stable.Ive seen a few people mension that they ran prime for hours and hours and still get the odd random crash here and there with Sandy Bridge! that includes myself.
Now when I make any changes and check for stability I just run Prime for a couple of hours and if it passes, use the machine as normal.

I "joined the club" a few weeks back, but still ran 4.8Ghz 24/7. However! - with a rejigged airflow in my case plus my first case mod (jigsaw to the side door panel!!) of adding a 200mm fan to the side and I'm happy to say i've found a Prime stable 5Ghz @1.44v that doesn't get too hot. Sandybridge chips rule...

2500ks are better overclockers because they dont have HT, 2600k's produce a lot more heat

i found the same! my temps are hitting 60deg with an h100 @ load, i have just bought this from ocuk as i have heard and seen on youtube, they are amazing at bringing temps down.

if it works as well as i hope i will try and see what is my max oc

btw we need screenies ;)
