To be fair I've never seen temps go above 60c on idle in BIOS or above 70c druing a 1M stress test.

Tho I do have the computer on her side with an extra 2 fans plonked around it, so thats 4 fans directly around the cooler!

I have to say that is amazing - beats my w cooled setup
I can manage a stable 4500Ghz on my 2700K at 1.288v but temps are
66-70 under Linx max stress test, and this in a cool room. Oh well thats life i suppose.

hmm im expecting the new 2700k is seriously start to "trash" the 2500k and 2600k with some of the oc's iv seem on them......i may have to upgrade to one XD

Yes - I viewed your video of it in action, and even though I am partially deaf, by god that is loud !!!!!

Price you pay for serious cooling performance though I suppose.

Dont want to risk going past x54 @ 1.45 untill/if I stump up for some water cooling. Or would it be risky even then?

Unless I should do down GTChris's route and try x53 with a higher BLCK? at X54 she wont play ball past 101.1 BLCK but I havent actually tried getting the BLCK higher at x53.

Edit: Yeah, I'm just gonna stick, the fresh reinstall helped a bundle tho fowler. I like you btw you dont have to say a lot to get my mind rolling.

I made what seems like a stable 5ghz profile for my 2700k, i dont use it often but here is a screenshot. Im impressed with this chip. Was from OCuk and from a retail pack. h80 cooler.

Well I have been fiddling with my OC. It was on Auto OC to 4.8 but was using too many volts. Currently running a manual OC to 5Ghz with speedstep on, using offset voltage so i'm not sure what volts to report.

Anyway...

Prime 95 will pull 1.352-1.368v.

that will go way higher yet sampsy
cpu-z vcore is only at 1.312 which is very good for 5 ghz

your vcore will be fine up to 1.425 or above as long as you can manage temps...if you go above 1.425 though thats your call but for 5.5ghz i needed 1.6v and my chips fine
