Bench when it is cold. That is the trick. All the windows and all the doors are open when I do my suicide air cooled benching runs. Can fully relate to a sub 10'c ambient. Not suggesting at all you were doing a sucide run. Just that I do many of them from time to time.

Not going any where near prime95 with this voltage, tried to get under 7s but seems I'll have to inject this cpu with too much

Interested in knowing what people are using for 24/7 overclock for i2500k!

Correct, if you are running windows 7 you are best to get service pack 1 to enable 256k registers and then use linpack with avx. I had intelburnt test stable and prime blend but then ran updated linx and my system failed.

Anyway got 4.8ghz stable and working on 5ghz now and will post a screenshot

do you think you could add more information to the top list on the initial post e.g. mobo brand/model would perhaps help people in deciding what are more stable overclocking platforms. at least i would find it helpful. anyone else?
