Oculus native games often perform better than Steam VR games. That's not to say that most Steam VR games perform badly.
The biggest issue with some steam VR games is they're optimised for the Vive wands, leading to wonky Touch controller controls.
SteamVR officially support touch now so i am not sure even that is an issue any more. my problem with it is purely one of performance, and i find steamvr titles often mess up my height and stuff (but not consistently)
@Uncle Petey I didnt intend to be missleading and this was not a general rift support on steam thing.
plenty of steam titles natively support the rift... Elite Dangerous, pCARS2, ETS2, ATS - there are loads more, infact i would guess more do than don’t.
however steamVR on the rift isnt native support, that was my point, and i didnt mean steam at all. AFAIK this is literally completely accurate
Arizona Sunshine on oculus store supports the rift natively. when I bought it I (in ignorance) assumed then that the steam version would also do the same, however, much like pinballFX2 it doesnt, it only supports steamVR**. this is not native support, it is a wrapper which sits on top and as such is an extra layer of complexity***
