here is sharpygsxr's bundle

he has been chatting with me over the last few days on what to get and he finally settled on the i7 920 UD5 Overclocked bundle

a great choice in my opinion as i really like the Gigabyte UD5

Locky has been doing the bundles recently and has done a great job

(pics)

we test all bundles at a higher speed than they are shipped to make sure they are stable - in this case the profile for 3.8 has also been saved into the BIOS as it is rock solid!
obviously this depends on each chip but provides a nice little bonus to each customer

as always - if you want to see anything in particular or need a question answered then dont hesitate to ask!

Looks great guys cant wait to get my hands on it :) also love the fact that you have also added a profile for 3.8 gives me the option should i ever feel 3.6 isnt enough ha ha (unlikely :) )

What programme do you use to make sure a system is stable when overclocking ?

Thanks for the laptop pics looks very nice. Always wanted to see how they were set up inside :).

We use prime 95 + furmark, Sandrasoft for testing things like Midi, sound, network etc

didn't know you worked there rjk

see you on l4d later :)

ha ha - yeah! hustler and killer uk are ocuk tech department too!

hence all the mickey taking

Wouldn't a system builder please more people than the current options?

I already know which items I'd want for my budget. Are you saying I could ring up and ask for the exact spec I wanted?

the system builder would be hard to implement
we could only have a certain amount of time to dedicate to making the endless combinations of hardware

there is too much room for error - and the systems we have represent a wide spectrum of hardware - its tested as it is - we know it works

if you wanted a certain system of ours with some changes - then calling sales would allow you to change hardware to your liking

that's why we employ telephone sales staff to accommodate for things like this :)

heres a few pics of cable tidying on a range of systems

hope these answer the cable management queries :)

on that card - yes

yo need to look for corruptions
black dots on the screen - anything that looks like tearing or images not being rendered properly

prime you need to look for blue screen shutdowns and worker threads stopping

make sure cpu temps dont go above 80'c
i use Realtemp 3 for this

What about if there's a built system to have things changed on there?

e.g. Choose your graphics card. Hard Drive. Optical Drive etc.

And you can block things that aren't compatible or wouldn't fit.

Dell have it on their XPS it won't let you select certain things as they conflict with other components.

I think it would be a good idea for things like GFX cards, maybe ocing, harddrive etc.

my dream job thread here :)

great idea with the cardkeeper, i can only imagine the transit damage, should have seen my antec 1200 case box the day it came!

I was looking at that the other day and the paragraph that comfuses me is:

Provided you pay the final balance in full before the 6 month BNPL period expires, you will pay no interest!

So, say I buy new bits totalling £333.34 (what that price btw?) tomorrow. If I want to pay no interest and only pay the ammount that the goods come to, what is the date I must pay the FULL ammount by without incurring interest? September 17th?

Can you pay in any ammounts you like and does it have to be paid in regular intervals, or can you pay as and when you can? (within the 6 months obviously).

If its the same as other deals, you just pay the deposit and 6 months later you either pay the balance or it turns into a traditional loan repayment with interest (i.e. monthly payments). Please correct me if I am wrong

So it doesn't actually let you pay it off in small, manageable amounts with no interest?

Is it just buying stuff on credit then, which has helped to contribute to the global economy being in the state it currently is? :o

Meh. I already had a spec drawn up :(

Looking at the long term payment schemes, what exactly does this mean?:
''Total Charge for Credit: £276.12''
Does it mean I will be charged that much extra for the use of the long term payment service?

Normally with the finance of this sort. You don't pay anything off until one big final amount at the end of the six months.

The below is an example of a situation that affected me with a different supplier of Buy Now Pay Later and may not be the actual situation with O/C finance, but I can't find the actual details on the O/C finance pages to clarify.

One thing to note is that if you don't pay off the full amount at the end of the six months, the interest on the amount goes back to when the loan was actually taken out. i.e. you get six months interest slapped straight onto the outstanding amount.

So if as I did you missed the final payment by two weeks by accident you get original payment + 6 months and 2 weeks interest to pay off.
