We buy Gigabyte from two extremely large official Gigabyte distributors, your friend cannot be looking in the right places. ;)

Sucks that shuttle cant get their house in order

But anyway, i was thinking about converting to a shuttle system, so started looking around for prices, and im afraid to say their were other websites significantly more competitive than OCUK.

Could another factor in OCUK's decision to stop stocking Shuttles be because they werent getting them from their suppliers at a good enough price, in order to compete with other websites? As such that tipped the balance of the argument in favour of dropping the shuttle line.

As suggested previously, i think OCUK could still remain selling shuttles, but with a warning to the purchaser to expect very slow support.

People who arent especially into computers refer to any small form factor pc as a shuttle now. This confirms their position as brand leader, so when people want a SFF pc, they will only look at shuttle. Shuttle will continue to be dominant in the SFF pc market, leaving OCUK with the low quantity specialist SFF products.

regards

-$

just spoke to him he look at all main distributors
as this is part of his job

but he is going to have a good look round to see wat he can find
then going to let me know

are u going to be removing the shuttles from your website

??????????????????????????????

the conduct or should i say language of some of your staff
ie swearing loud enough for people at the counter to hear
that cannot be good for buisness ???

just out of intrest gibbo we totaled up the amount we have spent
over the pass 3 years at overclockers

just the 3 off us it amounts to £17,432.92 think that show our loyalty to ock but enough is enough may betime to move on or should i say afew yards they will do a price match and im sure u know who i mean and it not as far to walk from car

we have meet in the past we even had a drink with you and spie me and my 2 m8s last year a nec cebits

I feel this has been blown out of proportion, overclockers have taken a good decision they feel that there position of being a major force in the marketplace is being hampered by shuttle incomplete customer service.so until they see fit they are not going to stock i can see in 6 months time shuttle will be back in the fold due to losing a prime customer i.e overclockers.THANKYOU GIBBO for reply to my post about customers who have bought shuttles in the past from overclockers

So, from the above posts would appear that we have two systems : one with OCZ PC3200 that runs slower than the one with PC2700 Crucial.

I guess it's better to buy crucial for these systems then?

not really, i only went for the crucial as i was desperate and knew a local supplier who sold it ceaper even than ocuk or crucials website. with my old twinmoss with bh-5 chips i could only get to around 2.3 ghz, but BH-5 chips love loads of voltage where as the crucial's default voltage is 2.5. something i think is important to consider when you realise that raising the memory V will kill your system. if you want ot overclock then i recommend some high quality pc3200 ram or even some pc3500. crucial is not renowned for its overclocking ability.

Hi there

If you had been buying Shuttle over 2 weeks ago from us our prices were amongst the best. :)
In the past upto recent present we were one of the cheapest resellers for Shuttle barebones most of the time.
The reason we are out now on price is because we have not bought any fresh stock and hence pricing has not been updated. I've just checked our pricing against our current buy prices and all prices are now updated for the entire Shuttle range on in stock and out of stock items. So see how they compare now. :)

The reason for us getting rid of Shuttle is plainy down to poor support, fact!

Think it all depends on how far you want to try and push the system to...

As in my case XP 2500+ >> XP 3200+ so from the RAM Speed crucial should be able to deliver no probs

Still a good bit dearer but thats not always the deciding factor and once again I say Kudos to OcUK for deciding to drop a line that they either cant compete in or arent able to offer their customers a good enough service for.

It's good business sense and produces winners all round

At least they are being honest rather than making false promises and as people have said already on here, i'd rather they drop a product that they can't support or deliver. As nothing worse than false info / hope etc etc.

Hmm my post vanished, either way good riddance to shuttle, there support towards the fans/customers was never there to begin with, which is oddly what I said 2 years ago only to be mauled by Shuttle Lovers ;)

Good company, but they dont have good support.

Plenty better SFF companies...

Shuttle need a slap IMO can't believe they are so hopeless on the support front. OcUK have done the decent thing I just hope Shuttle wake up and sort their act out :(

I have just bought two shuttles from elsewhere fingers crossed that they don't go wrong

I definately agree with an earlier post that OcUK should do a press release to try and up the pressure on shuttle.

Cheers,

P

So how many people reading this thread have bought a shuttle since OCUK decided to drop them ?
It seems a shame that they have lost out on revenue in this way.
Get those Aopen cubes in quick I want one :)

I bought my sister a shuttle 6 weeks ago and i was planning on replacing my desktop system with a shuttle and also one to go next to the tv.

Are those soltek cube pc's anygood?

I've got a jetway mini-q (identical to a shuttle - I mean identical) and I like it, it's a small PC and does everything I expect a small PC to do (i.e. run at stock default speeds reliabily).

Shuttle did themselves a favour with the SFF PC and good on them, but tbh - would you buy a Shuttle ATX motherboard? It's hardly Abit or Asus now is it :)

The problem I've seen is that shuttle won't replace quick, or with new. This means either the re-seller keeps a customer waiting up to 3 months (you can't, you'd lose them for life and it's probably not legal anyway) or you give them a new shuttle from stock. A new shuttle from stock means you'll end up with a repaired / used replacement from shuttle in a few months time that you can't sell (and would anyway be outdated / dropped in value).

Choice: Upset everyone who gets a fault on a shuttle (not huge but greater figures than Asus / Abit motherboards) or lose money selling shuttles. Hmm, bad reputation or lose money? Ahh, another option - sack shuttle!

Thats my view on it anyway.

I want the AV Cube (hope ocuk get 'em), but seeing as the cash point refused to give me money tonight I'll not be spending anything for a few weeks

We will be stocking the entire Aopen Cube range and at very good prices as they have agreed to sell direct to us on all their products, so we may also look at the rest of their range too. :)
They are also happy to meet our Support demands too. :)

Sorry, just seen this, does this mean you will get the different colours that they advertised on the AOpen site?

Also is there going to be an AMD version of the AV cube, as that would be great.

If yes to at least the colour then I am buying one in the summer as they look great :)
