Forgot to add it is also regulated so over those near 2 hours the light is constantly BRIGHT! I misread that you currently use the original mag bulb in your mag, christ there is no comparison! - I think this drop-in will make you smile :D.
Nice, I was hoping that it was going to be regulated as opposed to a resistor which is what some LED lights use - resistor = waste of light!

I'm sure it will blow away the 6D maglight bulb, which is a brighter than a 3D bulb but not much more.

Well I'm not expecting it to be as bright as my 2000+ lumen modded maglite, but I think that a 2C sized light is far more manageable and practical compared to a 5D monster! :D Plus having a runtime of more than 1 hr is rather handy too.

Mines been dispatched now, do you know roughly how long it takes to arrive? Is 1 week a little too optimistic? I hate waiting for these things! :o

I've just gone through the entire registration process just to join this thread!
There's nowehere really for 'us' to go apart from CandlePower Forums ('CPF') - so, good to see Overclockers outing its hitherto closeted flashaholics!

Someone exclaimed about a torch costing £119/$119 - well one of the current kings of portable, hand-holdable power is the Polarion X1 (HID) - around £1300 or so, I believe.

My adolescent torch enthusiasm days where I thought Maglites were the last word - translated into lasers as I grew older and uglier - & I pick up a laser direct from the famous Toronto-based manufacturer every other year or so.

However, I discovered CPF more recently, & this caused me to purchase an Olight SR90 - I think it's very cute that this is the leading-edge of LED technology, in terms of lumen output. LEDs I generally find amazing - the 300M EX upgrape to my 6-Cell Maglites is just stupendous on a number of counts. Then there are the Fenixes...

I thought I'd get to log on and willy-wave a bit with the Olight SR90 - but then along comes the man with the searchlight!

Thanks for listening to my ramblings - but this is years of pent-up enthusiasm venting!

Welcome Arif110 :)

Why do Fenix do SO many different models?! It's so hard to pick one!

I know what you mean. Just look at what type of battery you would like to power it by then you can cut the list down. I think the most popular double AA one is the LD20. If going 18650 then the TK11/12 seems like a good bet. I personally went for the TK12 due to the extra modes as I find high/low a bit restricting.

Unfortunately, no. And especially in the light (ha ha) of 'Selfbuilt''s legendary reviews & beamshots in CPF - there's virtually no point in competing - he's bound have lined the SR90 up against stuff you have. Full beamshot comparisons, with varying exposures, etc.

I'm still also rather 'spoilt' with the beam-visibility of my green lasers - where it really is the 'beam' that is laterally visible. You know, cars circling the area to see what it is pointing up in the sky! And the spot goes for 10 miles or more (confirmed by driving to lit object, with laser on a tripod). So torch beamshots are almost bland in comparison to a totally solid green line. However - no photos as yet - and all of these are treading a fine line over exposure settings versus honest depiction.

While (as with late-night radio) I know that at least one person is listening - my observation out in the UK countryside so far (Northants) is that 'atmospheric artefacts' bring to a strict limit the useful range of especially a 'throwy' torch. The SR90 can punch past the other lights I have, objects are lit way further than 'expected' - but then the light returning from the lit object gets absorbed by atmospheric artefacts, limiting the overall range somewhat. A bit like how full beam is pointless in the fog. A powerful beam seems to produce a similar effect in normal air.

I guess on very clear, warm nights the story might be different.

It is of course of little use as a walking light, but the Low setting makes it feasible in some circumstances.

Enough rambling! Thanks for the welcome, all!

My Fusion 36 LED module arrived today but it doesn't seem to work. :(

Tried it in a 3 cell mag and fresh D cell alkalines and nothing, tried it in a 6 cell and it lights up but isn't bright at all, in fact my 1 x 5mm LED keychain torch is brighter!

I've contacted the e-bay seller but have not heard anything back yet... Hopefully he'll send a replacement! :(

:( I'm a bit of a Luddite, but have always wondered how anyone can buy anything from Ebay or Dealextreme or the like, & not expect the default result to be the receipt of a lemon - a good outcome will be out of the expected norm. Whereas with a decent/specialist e-retailer - it should be the other way around, & customer service is more likely to be top-notch if things are amiss. Good luck, though dude.

Sorry to hear you got a dud :(

I actually thought mine was faulty at first as I got no light at all, but the head needed to be firmly attached. Sounds like yours is faulty it should be way brighter than your keychain torch!

Hopefully they will send out another quickly, have you got a reply from them yet? Keep us posted.

Ah brilliant a torch thread just as ive dropped my surefire of the roof.

So i need a recommendation for a new torch, i was using my surefire from my airsoft gun but it wasnt great.

I need a torch that has a good flood light as i work by torch light quite often when wiring attics when my halogen floodlight packs up. Also i need a good range mode and with a meter hot spot.
Size wise something 3-4 d cell sizewise.
Price upto £80
The light needs to last approx 1.5hours or more.

Dont really need many modes either.
