*** OcUK VR Sim Racing Thread ***

New PSU coming tomorrow, so will be stripping down the PC and recabling it all as nice as possible.

Then will resume practive before the return to work takes up all my time. Just bought the DLC whilst its on sale.

as much id love to play some VR racing, I'm no good at "sim" racing..
i really want a wheel, but 2 reasons why i cant

1 is Noise, pedals and the FF of steering wheel goes though the floors too easily and you know the rest, STOP! :(

2. is storage, literally no where to store one

however i use an X-Box pad, so no where near as as good as i could be !

I've got Project Cars 2 and Asseto Corsa

i find AC far to hard for me, but with PC2 i was playing online (seems mostly GT racing) and i felt i was getting the hang of it (once i knew the track well) its clear the others are using a wheel , so fast!

AMS2 (automobilista 2) is very simliar to PC2 which I used to play with.. the changeover to AMS2 was very straightforward..

On the noise and storage.. I recently purchased the playseat challenge and attached my wheel and pedals to that.. which does seem to deaden some of the noise.. and also solves the storage issues as it all just folds away.. and I put it where I store my ironing board.. (yes it's much thicker.. but simliar in other ways.. ) and golf clubs..

@melmac was thinking of joining in with a gamepad.. so join away..

maybe have a practice session with @melmac @Mr.Cookie and myself ... (as you already know us well :) )

Thanks for that
so what your saying then ASM2 is like the next step to sim racing from PC2 ? might be worth a buy then

i'm not sure it's a next step.. (I don't know enough to know, if you know what I mean :) ) it's certainly a lot clearer for me in terms of graphics.. PC2 was always very grainy for me.. AMS2 is not..

and was just as easy to get in and start racing driving around and crashing a lot..
