OCUK's new website

The site would look so much cleaner if you simply removed all of the gradients and borders

Drop shadow also needs removing from the logo but i cba

Also stick to the 4 colours

Dark Grey - 2c2c2c
Light Grey - cbcbcb
Red - b91221
Blue - 0057a8

I also prefer this version. The current one has my eyes pulled in all different directions, I just don't know where to look and certainly won't be having a casual browse.

Can't say i have had any problems with the new site. I quite like it, but i do think the colour pallet is completely wrong.
One thing that does interest me a lot though, is the price difference between OCUK and it's sister site in Germany. A 6700K is £54 cheaper from Caseking Germany.......................mmmmmmm ?

I think the primary issue for me is that there are simply too many navigation bars. I don't know where to start looking for stuff, if that makes sense?

The old site definitely needed upgrading, but in terms of finding what you wanted it really was so straightforward.

just checked it out, information overload. There was a lot on the old site but these seems even worse.

Not accessible either so if you have a disability of some time you are screwed. No skip links that i can see, can't navigate via keyboard and I'm not even going to attempt that with just a screen reader :(

I can't understand why they haven't had something mobile friendly ready to launch at the same time. They'll drop down the search rankings pretty fast as far as Google go if they don't sort it.

I've got several books here that whoever designed that eyesore needs to have a good read of.

-Human Computer Interaction
-Website Design
-Product Development
-Rational Unified Principles and UML
-Driving Change an approach to Business

The website is all over the place, how can you seriously consider that it is good?

Bit extreme to say you're put off buying from OCUK. Surely the CS is worth it alone.

CS only goes so far, especially in todays online market where you can order from the rain forest and send it back for any reason no quibbles.

I like a site to be intuitive and easy to use. Heck I was even willing to pay ocuks, usually slightly higher than other sites prices for that reason.

But, when a site becomes a chore to use, then i'll just go where the price is cheapest.

Overclockers had 1 big advantage that drew me to always use them, and that was the site was friendly for general browsing and looking even if you weren't shopping for anything in particular. The amount of times I've just seen something while having a general browse and brought it just because it was there I cant count. That general peruse-friendliness is gone now.
