*** Oculus Quest 2 Owners Thread ***

My headset also refuses to charge from the USB 3 port of my desktop so I'm glad I found this thread as I thought that because I hadn't used it for several months the battery had died. Charges OK with the mains charger so I'm thinking it must be down to a bug in the firmware...

When you say refuses to charge, you mean whilst sat powered down (or sleeping), or whilst you're playing on it?

Well it finally happened, my Elite Battery Strap cracked while putting it on this morning. Put in a support request to Meta. Hopefully they'll replace it as it's still under warranty until October.

Will be interesting to see if they want the old strap back. If not, then potentially the battery could be detached and repurposed for another strap.

I recently bought one when i visited America from Walmart as it was quite abit cheaper. Hoping this doesn't happen to me! My last elite strap broke but that was my own fault as i hung it upside down on a hook by the strap.

Well actually mine is the original version, purchased along with my Quest when it first came out, so it's not the 'improved' version.

However mine lasted much longer than other peoples!

It lasted pretty long but it always sucks when something breaks and you have to go through a returns process. My brother has an original one too, it's still going strong. And it's mostly his kids that use it. He keeps expecting it to break at any moment, but, despite all the mistreatment from the kids, it hasn't.

Well Meta are extremely quick - the strap will be replaced and I won't have to send the old one back! I'll see if I can glue the strap and put some strong tape over it, so I'll have a spare.

Didn't even ask for pictures? I've contacted them before about a silicone cover but they never got back to me.

Yes they asked for pictures. Sent them one of the crack, and photos of the inside of the strap connectors. Interestingly no serial number visible anywhere.

Absolutely excellent service from Meta there, and on a Sunday! Reported the issue at about 10:30am and a replacement authorised by 1:30pm!

Hmmm might try support and see if i can get a replacement on my Elite strap though its been about 1 year and 1 month since i bought it. Not sure what the warranty period is on these things?

Was bought in April 2021

Two years is the warranty.

You'll need to provide proof of purchase if you didn't buy it from Oculus as they were then.
