That 1 meter that u suppose be away from sensor is more like 2 meters SO YOU KNOW and wont waste 1.5 hour trying to calibrate the faking sensor !!!

PS. If you got Hipster Glasses and big head You can dream about using rift my flat mate had 0 chances of glasses + helmet no matter what.

Got mine today, never tried any VR and my mind is blown apart, the demo of the dinosaur was amazing and projects cars is just unreal, OK so the resolution isn't amazing and you need to find the sweet spot with the rift on your head but my god, anyone who hasn't tried it will be blown away.

Oh! Yeah that dinosaur demo was very real! Actually got a little worried when it came running towards to me and started roaring!! Can be quite terrifying!

I also really liked the Alien demo, i walked a few steps towards it and reached out and it moved back, was quite hilarious.

I had the dk1 many years ago, this is a massive improvement. Everything is so clear now, whereas before nothing seemed real and all you could see is pixels, now it feels like you are really in a different environment, also the high frame rate really helps as well. I can only imagine how much better this would all be though once i have the controllers (and hive) and the virtuix omni, then i can actually walk through these environments and reach out for things which i really wanted to do.

Your order has been processed and your Rift is almost on its way! Look for a shipping confirmation email with tracking information soon.

Looks like I was whining for no reason  strangely after waiting so much my anticipation has burnt down and I am no longer excited. Sure that will change as it gets closer :)

There's a thread on reddit with lots of people saying they had a "delayed till May" email the other day, but started getting payment taken / shipping emails today, so some hope there for people

I need to stop reading this thread until May lol... Keep getting false hope!

I'm just going to accept in my head that it's 16-26th may and try to forget about it...

Nuts, those told May are getting theirs and mine says April 18th to 28th and nothing lol. I don't mind if it is those dates but still rather have it now.

Got the same estimate and still live in hope of waking up to an email saying account charges and its on its way.. Sad I know lol. Looking forward to using it tho. Still need to convince the Mrs to be that it's worthwhile tho. She almost throws up going through small dips in th car fast so I doubt she's gonna enjoy the rift.

There really does seem to be no rhyme or reason as to their shipping process - Even with the payment problems I managed to get my order in within the first 10 minutes (don't know exactly when as the confirmation email never came through until they resent them all). Seems some lucky people with significantly later orders have already received their rifts, equally there are undoubtedly some people with earlier orders that haven't received it either!

My only small consolation is that my MFG crosswind pedals aren't coming until May anyway, and the Warthog HOTAS is a bit useless without rudder pedals.

I'm just going to gloss over the fact that I could be enjoying project cars already and various other VR experiences....

This has been the worst launch I have ever seen. Nobody seems to have a clue, any response from support is vague and the emails sent (if you get sent one) are lacking any important info.

Sorry to hear this Greg. I have been looking forward to your thoughts on the Rift and as you were one of the first to get yer order in, I thought it would have been sooner rather than later.

I'm sure it will be here soon. Hang in there fella.
:)

Ah, bad luck man, I hope you get yours soon, I am looking forward to your review. And while I do feel you are a little anti-AMD, I enjoy your reviews and think you will do a great review on the rift.

Have you been charged yet?

Thanks guys and appreciated. Oculus are pretty well fudging this release far worse than AMD have ever done (and that is saying something) :p But joing aside, there is many people who ordered as quick as me and still without and some who ordered late have theirs, so no real set pattern of sending. Money hasn't gone yet but will be pleased when it has.

Do we have any indication of when the touch controllers will be released? Having been playing with the Rift and Vive back to back over the last couple of days I firmly believe that the Rift is the better device but it feels constrained without the controllers. Once they are released if they track as well as the Vive ones then the Rift will be complete and the best device in my opinion.

Hmm, I'm still waiting to receive my Hive, only been playing with the rift. Have now used it for many hours. Fell in love with some of the games, Eve:Valkrie, Luckys Tale (what a game!! Did not expect it to be too good, the mario team at Nintendo would even be proud of this game) and the VR adds an amazing amount of excitement to the game!

But yes I've found the lack of the motion controllers really hold it back. Which is why I'm really excited for the hive. However, i don't see how the rift can be a better device? Here are some issues that I've discovered with the rift:

- Only one tracking camera, will not work anywhere near as well at tracking as the Hive which uses two camera sensors.

- The Lens sometimes fog/glare up especially when there is a white colour on the screen.

- The rifts Field of view is smaller then the hives, FOV is very important i feel in VR.

The Rift's FOV is nearly identical to the Vive. Believe me, I have them both. The Rift has a less curved FOV too which means that you actually get more screen in the corners at the top and bottom.

I will say that yes, the Rift can't do room-scale at the moment with the one camera but once the second camera appears with the motion controllers I'm sure it will be fine for small rooms. Room scale on the Vive is of course the killer feature for that device at the moment but the content is poor as we stand today.

The fogging happens with the Vive too by the way.

Wait for the Vive before making a judgement about the FOV for instance as that can depend on how you adjust the Vive. You can get a wide FOV on the VIVE but you then suffer more god ray effects and the more prominent Fresnel lens rings being more obvious. Myself I prefer to move the Vive lens 2-3 clicks forward for a compromise.

I'm looking forward to the Vive for the somewhat better ergonomics as using circumaural headphones on the vive is annoying at times with the extra heft of the Vive.

Only when I've got both can I make a decision over which combination of traits I prefer. Though just on software at the mo the rift edges it for me as there isn't that much indepth room scale stuff for the Vive.

Have to say, really enjoying Lucky's Tale. I really didn't think a platformer would work in VR but it so does. It's as if you are playing with toys on a table. It's really, really cool.

It's easily the most impressive bit of VR that I've seen on it. Absolutely fabulous, especially in the underground sections! You can push the boxes over with your face if you get close enough!
