Oculus Rift

You will get it soon guys... Ordered mine within 20 mins of launch (due to site issues failing to take payments) but I received it yesterday... and omg its worth the wait.. Had reservations about luckys tale but its sooo addictive :) .. Eve Valkyrie is really good too.. Downloaded affected before work this morning so will check it out later.

Eventually patched Elite Dangerous and Warthunder (not played either in months) so got plenty to play with :).

Other halve's brother is coming round on Friday night to give it a go.. Think he may get hooked :)

Yeah if it's any consolation my updated shipping window was 16th to 25th of May but it actually ended up shipping on 28th April. I still don't have it, but that's just due to bad timing with bank holidays, weekends and work.

So given that fact, I doubt you will be waiting as long as your delivery estimate says.

Has a new affected been released? That was one game i was looking forward to trying out unfortunately the build is using the old sdk 0.8 and doesnt work on the cv1. You will have to wait until a new build is created using oculus sdk 1.2

Picked my Rift up today and have been having fun trying it out at last! Bit of a bummer but I can't get elite dangerous to launch since buying it on the home store... Perhaps someone here can help while I wait on support?

When I run it, it kicks me out to a registration screen. I filled out the registration a few times but the process marker just spins and nothing ever happens... and no email confirmations received. It seems it did create an account as I can now log in to the frontier website and a managed to re-send a confirmation email and get the account confirmed.

However, now whenever I try to boot up elite it again kicks me out to a browser and asks me to log in, which I do successfully... but then when it comes to linking the account I again just get a spinning process marker and nothing happening. I cannot get past this point and actually play the game. Any suggestions?

Aaaaaanyway, loving the rift. I do have to say as a VR virgin that the resolution is a little disappointing... that's my biggest complaint by far and probably the one thing that is really preventing me from really feeling like i'm a real environment. The notorious god rays really don't bother me at all 99% of the time and the 1% that they are really obvious, I still don't mind them that much.

It's an incredible bit of kit which I will enjoy immensely, but I am now massively excited by the thought of gen 2 with higher resolution screens. More FOV would be good too, but I would honestly be happy with the current FOV and more resolution. I must admit though the spaceship in Farlands looks incredible, so perhaps even with the current resolution things can be improved through careful design.

Fortunately (thank the looooord) nothing I have tried has given me even the slightest hint of nausea, but my GF did start to feel a little off when trying Project cars... my neighbour (who seems to massively get into the VR space, should have seen him when that dinosaur came lol) felt very sick straight away in Project Cars too. Any suggestions to help develop VR legs for them?

General consensus seems to be stop as soon as you feel a bit sick and have a break but dont stop trying and it will come on its own. Also Ginger seems to work well for some people the same way it does to reduce travel sickness.

Got some ginger chews on the way, hopefully that'll help them - I have to admit I was surprised by how positive my other half was about it when she tried it. Think she'll love it when touch comes out.

So next stupid question that I haven't yet found an answer to - how do I make the mirrored screen window bigger (or indeed full screen) so people can see what's going on more easily? it's pretty small for most games on my 40" 4k TV due to the high pixel density.

Got my rift today and have been having a lot of fun with it. Purchased the The Climb and Project Cars - both are excellent though for now I am enjoying the vertigo inducing climb. You get a real sense of achievement for making it up some of the routes.

Just ordered mine!

Shipping date is 'TBD' :(

Never mind, just have to hang on and look forward to it.

How is the set up for the Rift? Easy or a fiddle?

Thanks Ronski :). Just watched a setup video and it looks pretty straightforward.

Sorry to hear that Boycey...doesn't bode well :(.

Will I get by with a GTX 970? If not what would be the best choice of GPU for the rift?

If you have a 970 stick with it.. I've a 970 and had no issues.. saying that I'm closely keeping an eye out for reviews of the 1070 and all the new stuff they are releasing with the 10** series.

Just got in on the closed beta for Redbull Air Race: The Game from Slightly Mad Studios... it's already running on Rift.

Can't wait to get my rudder pedals, then I can set up my warthog finally - this game should be a lot of fun if the limited go I had was any indication! Look forward to trying it out some more once with pedals and stick... I don't reckon it's for those who get motion sick though!

Lots of UKers have got processing emails...except it's processing, "we'll know you know when it's in our warehouse"...duh.

Still nothing for me mind you (XX31 33 minutes).
