Do these plug into PCI sockets I take it?Just buy the Inateck adapter, it has 4 usb 3 ports, costs about £25. Plug your rift and sensor into that. That frees up your USB 2 port for your mouse.

If its late Sept, you might as well wait the extra few weeks for October and the release of touch, get some idea of pricing and early reviews from people actually using it.
Even if you dont plan to buy touch at first, honestly you will want them as being able to interact with something other than a controller massively improves immersion
When ordering from the oculus site it changed to the 549 sterling price and says it includes tax. Combining that with an email confirmation from oculus Ireland makes me think there shouldn't be any import tax. Hoping so anyway!
I just swapped to paypal and that sorted it, thanks.

Surprised Oculus didnt increase the price of the rift in line with brexit similar to what happened with the vive. Good show Oculus!
But yeah you shouldnt have anything else to pay.
They did didn't they, used to be 499 GBP and now it's 549 so about a 10% price hike
It was 550 pounds when I preordered, though the delay Oculus had put on us getting it too us, they took 50 pounds off the price for that reason.
so at 550 pounds its at original launched price.

No thats wrong. £549 is the price i was to pay as well but then Oculus knocked off the delivery costs for everyone who preordered the rift. Which brought it down to £499.

The rift compatibility tool says that:
My CPU (i5-2500k @ 3.3GHz) is not sufficient
My ASMedia USB3 Host controller has issues with the rift.
My GPU 1070 walks it as does my 16GB ram.
The steam VR test gives my system a 10.9 score.
Will the rift run OK with teh above specs or do I really need to upgrade a perfectly good CPU and get a PCIe USB3 controller ?
