Oculus Rift

I ordered 1x usb and 1xhdmi 2m cables from the links above and now my headset cuts to black every so often. Im assuming its related to the cables as works fine without them.

Given these were advised to get why am I having issues but seemingly no one else?

Wild guess, faulty or damaged cables? :D

well I'm having a bit of an annoying problem this morning, everything was working fine yesterday but today when I run steamVR nothing shows up in my rift??? I can hear being in the steamvr room and even when i run the mirror i can see steam is tracking my headset fine but all i see is black when I put my headset on.

When i run the oculus software its all fine there but not in steam. Any thoughts?

Actually I just tried to run Iracing and having the same problem so it seems to only work when i run the Oculus software

You are not alone in this - https://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/8h5clw/oculus_126_released_on_public_test_channel/

The latest Oculus home beta stopped my sensors from working. They were appearing ok in device manager but not in Oculus Home. I reverted to the non-beta build, and it's working fine now.

I've got two Rift's one will only work in none-beta now...took me ages and 2 re-installed to figure that out!!! (pre-reading this thread)

@FlukeRogi @RockSteddy @Devrij

Well guys, I took a walk around your Oculus Homes yesterday evening. Very impressed!! Put my attempt to shame. If I left your spaces in a bit of a mess please forgive me :p

Really didn't do much on mine, definitely more effort needed me'thinks! Hope I don't have too much cleaning up to do ! :D

They need to get multi-user homes working. Being able to gather in a room before launching everyone into the same game is already on Go.

Absolutely agree, one of things Steam VR home does well and sorely needed for Oculus Home.

Works even better on Go. You can see at a glance if everyone else in the room has the game in their library. It also does a neat thing with some games - select Dead and Buried for example and the ghost miner guy from the game pops up in your home, and when you start a game it auto launches for everyone.

I think it needs to be even better than what Steam VR has. The possibilities with VR are endless.

That is a really neat feature, and a step in the right direction.

Well yes improvement is always needed, i basically meant (but badly worded) that Steam has it and Oculus Home does not :)

Sounds really good, I hope it comes to the Rift sooner than later but they are taking their bloomin time with it!

Your crappy broadband affects your typing too :p:D

Haha no it's just down to my crappy brain!:D

Unfortunately I'm actually getting bad performance on my Rift at the moment, major stuttering. Nothing has changed on my end except for the new Win10 update that got applied recently but I've not had the chance to troubleshoot as yet.

Not getting really bad hand tracking/reprojection in Steam by any chance are you? Mine has been *(^%ed for a month now. Works flawlessly in Home/native stuff, but Steam overnight turned into a pile of dog-doo. The weird thing is that showing stats/rendering time, there's plenty of overhead, and actual movement or anything that doesn't use tracked controllers is fine. If I overlay Dash, you can even see the Oculus hand tracking perfectly, but the Steam composited controllers lag behind.

Well I've only seen it happen in Eleven Table Tennis via Steam, not played anything native to Home since the stuttering began so will have to check it when I have time. I thought I saw some stuttering in home but I'm not sure, to be honest I've never had 100% perfect tracking with my rift always had some little glitching going on but it is rare and fleeting when it happens and it is mainly in the Home environment. What I experienced while playing Eleven was 10 times worse than what happens in home. Will have to try to investigate some more over the weekend.
