Be able to unplug your SATA HDD once Vista boots up and run from the Prefetch/Cache.

£270 is'nt bad for a 16Gb kit seeing as we were paying £120+ for 2Gb only 18 months ago.

P45 can take 16GB max compared to 8GB. No reason to go for 4GB sticks on another chipset I guess.

Can you use 2x4gb kits on older chipsets like p35 i wonder, or if these chipsets will actually support 16gb unoficially.

I doubt it....

Any one noticed its cheaper to by 2 of the 8 gig kits (2x 4 gig sticks) than it is to get the 16 gig kit....

I doubt very much at all. Infact there are two good comparisons on the net for 2/4/8gig setups and the bottom line was unless you are going to use more than 4gig don't bother upgrading to 8gig as the overall speed of your PC drops slightly from 4gig to 8gig in interests of stability.

will p35 run 4X4GB sticks? specifically IP-35pro (i would make a ram drive to play 1-2 games i play a lot)

No, P35 supports 8gig max. You need the P45 for 16gig.

So in the press release it says 5-4-4-18 yet on OcUK it says 5-6-6-18 :/

I assume its just the Gold series that is the faster?
