OCZ Vertex SSD

Not too shabby for 2 X25 M's :-)

****! :eek::eek:

Thats it. Intel drives it is then :D

Did you guys see test results of Vertex? Check OCZ forum!
250/240MB speeds are incredible! This is for 120GB version with 64MB cache. Write speeds faster than read!

I'm interested in the 120GB space but only once we have some independent testing. Reporting ideal performance tests on non-public firmware which is hardwired for that benchmark, no doubt, is rather stupid. For all I know they could have hardcoded the addressing and disabled wear levelling along with other production features.
I'll wait for the real figures of the normal drive once they're using the production firmware - seen so much marketing crap in this area and so far only Intel have delivered the goods..

yes i noticed that on the ATTO benchmark they did, but they forgot to blank out the queue depth level of 10.:rolleyes:
would like them to re-run the bench with a queue depth of 2 and then see how the performance is.

So will these new ocz controller, get rid of the random read/write lag problem which plagues the rest of the ssd market apart from the lintels?

Well, I thought that partition alignment fixed that problem, but yes, I believe Vertex with that cache - 32 or 64MB it will be helpfull. Check APex, it doesn't suffer from that problem, and has only double cache from previous ssds only in Raid...
