Only just seen the OMGTOOMUCHTIMEONMYHANDSLULZLUCERO thread (was out at the Horse Racing last night). Tis... interesting. Shame it's locked so I can't stick my oar in :p.

@Joshy: You tried anything else? I know I'm lucky in that I live with the 'rents and they don't live in the ghetto, but I'm 20 (your school year I guess) and only paying £500 for fully-comp on my Saxo VTR...

Uh oh, for the first time since buying my car I looked on Auto trader today at Mini Cooper S.....I blame the last few mini posted in the Show your motors thread....I love the look of the mini.

Scooby, what new car did you pick up?

This MINI :)

Nice! Spec? And is it as a daily runner instead of the Scoob?

Thanks ! Pretty big spec, main things are full exhaust, reduced pulley, air filter, front mounted intercooler, coilovers, AP brakes, carbon bucket seats, harnesses and other lots of carbon bits! And loads more like gauges, flocked dash, suede roof lining, strut braces, the wheels. And various things that I probably don't even know about yet!

Nah not a daily, got the Peugeot for that. But of different fun for now. :)

What plate and how much? (I can't see the pic :()

Check the show your motors, it should show in there. Unfortunately I'm without proper internet at the moment, and so uploads from the phone are a bit hit and miss.

Its a 52 plate, currently on a private T plate until my mate buys his new car and transfers it. Price..not a lot for the car, but more than the market dictates due to the mods, I've got most the standard parts with it too. Come sale time I should make a little profit by returning some parts back to standard.

I love cars which look far newer than they are and that looks nothing like a 52 plate :)

Thanks. I completely agree. I think the modifications done to it really help though, e.g. the headlights are from a newer model, the aero kit body kit (front bumper, side skirts, rear bumper) and other things really help keeping it looking fresh :)

About that figure, but the value of the mods on the car is quite a lot. If I decide to sell it.. as lets be honest here, I have no justification for three cars, then I will return certain parts back to standard to appeal to more of the market, and make a little profit on the parts that I sell :) The question is.. what car do I sell?! ;) And more importantly, which do I take to the rolling road day?! :D

Random thought whilst in the shower this morning that I may as well share?

OCUK Santa Pod day or similar? Be a bit different, and you drive your car only as hard as you want to?

or

OCUK Airfield day ?

I'd be willing to look into arranging such things if people were interested?

This would make an awesome car to run for just 12 months or something. You'd lose so little money on it when you come to sell too.

You might not lose much money on the sale (but you probably will, look how worthless these kind of cars are becoming) but you will spend an absolute FORTUNE keeping it running - and I really, really mean that. The suspension being the crazy part to keep going. One fault there and you are looking at massive massive bills (and a car you can't sell without either fixing or taking a bath on).

If you decide the sell the Mini in 12 months or something, i might be interested (even as it is now), I quite like the look.

Question, how many miles has it done and has it has the gear box replaced? I hear the Midlands gearbox is liek cheese and an 52 plate one should have had a new gearbox or due one this old.

Wish we could hold an airfield day here! Would be great.

But put me down as a maybe, location/date dependant. Not been on the track yet, and would be nice to have some decent folk to do it with.
