I keep thinking about getting a personalised plate, but the fees for when you change cars is a bit of a rip off, especially when the plate only costs £250.

Only an issue if you change cars quite often and tbh if you are worried about the fees to change then wasting £250 on a plate probably isn't something you'd be comfortable with anyway?

DSG gearbox is starting to get annoying. I totally get the whole autobox in a luxobarge for motorway cruising... but this is Malta FFS. It'll blip the throttle nicely on downshifts, but parallel parking with it is a complete nightmare (well so is anything that involves reverse on it). And when you go to pull out of a junction it's literally foot flat to the floor, wait a couple of seconds, and then it finally moves.

1.2 TSI engine isn't too bad though.

It shouldn't take a couple of seconds, so it sounds broken. You cannot "creep" with DSG like you can do with an autobox but you should be able to pull away just as you would with a normal manual car when you get used to it. For me, I was able to pull away with no issues after about 5 minutes of stop-start driving.

It isn't as smooth as an autobox, you do feel a little "bump" as the clutch engages but you shouldn't be waiting.

Reverse... you just get used to it and once you are, it is fine / just like an autobox?

Quick question about MPG.

Just did the brim the tank petrol MPG test and found out I get 39mpg for usage on mainly short trips (4 miles) to the train station in stop start traffic.

I think this sounds about right for a Ford 1.4 zetec engine and just wanted someone to weigh in?
