The biggest bug bear for me was the whole "Motors = BMW or a Mondeo". It's now fading away which is refreshing. It was always the case that different cars were recommended irrespective of marque - which is strange as I don't get where the whole "motors = BMW or a Mondeo" came from.

People stating opinion as fact doesn't bother me. If I need to know something, I use more than one source.

I think its taken almost 2 years of me rarely mentioning my own car and not having a BMW sig, but every little helps. People just couldn't seperate my entirely unrelated posts from a picture in my signature or previous discussions about what I chose to drive.

I'm not so sure about the new one.
Sure, it's fantastic and it's a lovely place to be, but I don't think it should have a metal roof IMHO.

Well, the whole point of the car like the Z4 is it that you can have the roof down, which it can.

But I also like the noise level in a car with a hard top too....it's like best of both?

Adds weight, has a higer centre of gravity...

The difference is probably negligible though :p

I don't think i will even push it to the limit where the weight matters :)

plus i am hopeful that the 3.0si engine can handle it hehe.

I never seen one in person until this morning, where I saw a red one, then one the way home i saw a black one. When it was approaching i couldn't make out what BMW it was, the intake vent it bigger than any 1, 3 or 5 series, or even the 650i that alexisonfire's dad has. It only click when it was next to me, I actually turned around to look lol

It's not - its pretty staggering. A folding metal hardtop makes a 335i M Sport increase its weight to an astonishing 1800kg from 1600kg.

whoa, that is a lot, its like the weight of 3 people in the car!

I think it's a shame you didn't go for the convertible. So it adds 200kg extra. So what? You yourself have said having a car which "instantly obliterates everything and shatters the speed limit within a few seconds" is boring. And lets face it, a 335/330i is still very capable with the added 200kg. Reading your posts, you seem to like convertibles, ala your parents Z4 and the Mustang. Obviously I don't know you on a personal level, however going by your posts, I think you'd enjoy the convertible.

Side note Kim, check your email :)

Have you sent her pics of your hair

I love the folding hardtop on the Z4sDrive35iSiSiSiS, looks much better imo and the meaty engines available should come as some compensation to those worried about fat sports cars.

It's a posing GT more than a sports car, imo (although I know I said sports car above), and I must completely disagree about the flappy gearbox, that is ridiculous!
