No contradiction?

Now you don't have to due to having previously done something. - Is what he is saying, I don't see a problem there.

Right ok, it seemed like he was saying all of this was my doing, which is total BS.

I understand your point now. And yes you are allowed to be "critical" :p

Everyone gets banned for a reason. Bans and suspensions are not up for discussion, even in the off topic thread.

I'm not attempting to or encouraging the discussion of bans or suspensions, no matter how ambiguous the reasons behind it are. I was pointing out that i find Motors to be quite boring these days and this may be as a result of interesting and respected posters becoming banned.

There's no discussion about cars these days, all the threads seem to be a "spec me a car for £1000" or "Which tyres for a Ford KA?" or things equally as dreary.

Wow, just read what Merlin said in the other thread - well done. Glad i'm not the only one sick of that crap.

Merlin said:
Why do we have to hear this **** day in day out. Keep it to yourselves.

If it's not constant gay talk/hurf for mod rubbish it's DM spouting drunken crap and gently reminding us of the size of his bank balance and then half a dozen other posters sucking his ****. If he wasn't wealthy he'd have been flamed to high hell and back by the forum as a whole.

Quality of threads is going down, not many interesting threads in the last few months seems no one is willing to stick their head above the parapet and start something interesting, GD has better quality threads now and that's a bold statement.

Thing is it's always going to be cyclical - it always has been in Motors. It'll bounce back I'm sure. Maybe some people genuinely don't have any interesting car stories going on. People possibly have less money to spend on motoring, and there are less projects going on etc...

I don't REALLY think it's solely to do with the moderating, sure I can admit there has been a bit of a wobble in consistency, but not to the extent of shutting down a whole forum's ethos.

Let's get a sense of perspective :)

I think motors is going quiet as some are maybe less willing to post things they do at times as they either get no response, lots of ribbing, or if it's remotely BMW related, pages and pages of replies ;)

ive seen mods do worse might actually have been naith though lol they are normal human beeings at the end of the day and can make the same mistakes as us

Mods should be whiter than white if they want to both maintain order and moral, both of which have gone down hill, and both of which I have easy solutions for. I have demonstrated how easy ideas can improve the forum tenfold by just implementing one thing, imagine the improvements that could be made should I be given a chance, or at least an advisory role. Sometimes the mistakes are so glaringly obvious and yet, in not wanting to be seen as "cheeky", rude, arrogant or simply not wanting to be punished for a helpful suggestion or criticism, things are not being said or are being skirted around.

Making me a mod or something was my light hearted attempt at saying I could vastly improve things around here, make it like it was, still maintain order, reduce any issues with racism, homophobia, and what not that motors, let alone GD, still suffers occasionally every now and again (admittedly its gotten a lot better), and improve other areas further still. I may have gone about it in a light hearted and jokey way but the idea was sound and incredibly popular with the old guard posters, who some of you may have noticed, post much less if at all any more.

These same people made the forum what it was, and since leaving, have helped lead to it going down hill and now more quality posters have come in recently that I have noticed. Motors is dying, and in a way, for OcUK, that might be a good thing, after all, they wanted to focus more on the hardware side of things.
