I do love Bride seats. Stupid expensive, but worth it IMO. JDM stuff always looks right in our cars, whereas Sparco etc always seem to look out of place if that makes sense?

I do definitely feel buckets are on the cards as I never really liked my seats in my STi, far too wide. Although, as an interim I may look to see if they do lower rails like for the Evo, Gaijin. Seems like a good Idea!

My (probably unwanted, but you're getting it anyway) 2p is that auto-promoting OcUK staff straight to the moderating team is a Bad Thing.

I remember wondering about that when it first happened and we've seen some pretty poor behaviour since then really. Last night was probably the culmination of that.

Moderation of this place was always done by the people that really loved the forums. I was there once and some of the people I have met and had some good times with then-moderators but we all had one thing (at least) in common - which was a love for the forums.

Sticking anyone that has a job at OcUK in that role means you remove that love and understanding from things and thats when you get the user base peed off with the mod team and unsightly threads popping up here and there.

A good post

A clear case for popular and good posters to be made mod you say?! Could this be a clear indication that moderators should be selected based on posting merit?! That sounds like a campaign another person was running a little whole ago....

I remember you telling me this that's why I mentioned it :D

guy is selling my old car, with my plate on it, he says because he is a trader there is no way he can transfer the plate because it would mean adding another owner to the v5. he is a very nice guy so maybe he doesnt know how the system works (I certainly don't!)

if I was to get my plate back I'm not entirely sure how happy I would be :D

Give me £7.5k and the plate is yours, pocket money to you Londoners

:p

Agreed, I remember thinking the same and ultimately from speaking to people, its undermining the mod team who up to then were well received by the forum.

I just remember thinking whilst bearing in mind the calibre of Dons past and present, whether certain more recent Dons would have "made the cut" if they weren't employed as shop staff. A resounding no is the answer.

High five! Remember when Motors was pretty much self moderated? Ahh happy days.

Er, no? What self moderation would that be?
We've always had excellent dons in the past who have been nothing but flawless keeping motors moderated.

I'm not sure, I think Motors can run well without too much moderation. It's best to let the discussion flow freely and only step in when it gets out of hand.

I think many mods have that idea, but I also think what the people of Motors feel is "out of hand" is very different to some of the other sections. In one thread we can be quite seriously tearing in to each other, and in another different thread with the same people be in a discussion with no grudge (maybe some banter) and complete objectivity.

I wonder what the age demographic of Motors is versus the other forums? That could offer some explanation - I get the feeling it's older.

Last few snaps from Sweden, good place this well worth a visit.
