Had a ride as a passenger in an E46 M3 for the first time yesterday (was at work at the time so getting paid for it too, bonus!).
Very impressed with the power. Felt rather akin to sitting on a missile! Felt so planted the whole time, as though the road was being steered below the car. Never been in a performance BMW before (embarassing, I know) so it was an insight. Seats were very comfortable and the ride was good considering how much of a thoroughbred it is (on 19" wheels, too).
Straight six soundtrack is addictive, I see why so many go wild for these engines. I wouldn't have considered this car before really, but looking around they seem reasonably priced. I know that the running costs are a stinger, but on the face of it there seems to be a lot of the car and prestige for the money.
Now to find an E39/E60 M5 to have a spin in.

It is on these forums haha! They're legendary cars and something you have to experience if you're a big car fan, which I am. Saying that I'm still reasonably young, so plenty of time to chalk up more.

Even after nearly 6 months I'm still overwhelmed by the huge torque of the e39 M5, it's definitely something you have to experience

Would I be able to get a passenger ride beermonster at the RR? I'd love to see how it compares to the Monaro.
It does explain away a lot of the blatant fanboiism and damages the credibility of a poster if they havnt driven let alone sat in a any version of a very prominent make of car.
