In fairness I thought it's been a lot better recently...

I was narked that Maccy (to a lesser extent) but particularly Naith *seemed* to be throwing their weight around without being part of the group, but that seems to have changed now... More banter and less of the bad stuff...

I wouldn't have made the comment Naith did personally, but it was a poorly judged poster post, rather than a poorly judged mod post imo.

We can't fairly expect mods to join in as posters instead of just as mods, and then bitch about their mod status if they go too far, as many of us posters do...

It was harsh, and should probably be deleted imo (like many others do), but that's it... We'e got enough bandwagons to jump on atm with the whole phone hacking thing, do we really need another?

We're all men here, nobody's mortally (;)) wounded by it...

I need to check the tred on my tyres, is there some sort of device I can get? Or should I just take the plunge and change them to be safe?

You've 3.5/4mm on the rear average across the width of the tyre ;) unless you've been driving it like it's stolen. Tbh I wait until they are nearer to 3mm as that is when the water displacement ability drops significantly, so I read. That and there's a few more dryish months around yet.

As far as i can see, the only interesting thread on the first page is Iceman's one. Most of the other threads are just asking quick questions about their individual cars - rather than their being big, interesting discussions about stuff. Perhaps this is a result of banning decent posters for very minor offences?

How can you force people to be interesting? Who are these members that have been banned?

I'm not suggesting people need to be more interesting. I'm saying *perhaps* interesting discussions doesn't happen anymore because decent, interesting posters aren't around. All you have to do is look at a 10 page thread from 2 years ago and just see the number of "PermaBanned" or "Banned" next to the names of decent posters.

The rear's are looking a little low! Plus I can get 4 Hankook V12's fitted for £333 which isn't too bad...

It's not really much of a mistake though. Joshy is constantly moaning and attention seeking. Surely other people are sick of it too.

Everyone gets banned for a reason. Bans and suspensions are not up for discussion, even in the off topic thread.

Motors is crap lately.. all the interesting threads and discussions have been shot down lately by the mods and people don't come asking advice for advice on a Lexus LS430 as their first car and then get slated to hell for being so stupid.... which was part of the fun. Plus there's no brute honesty anymore which was one of the best things about Motors. Even Mikeyhow's buggered off and not making any threads cos they all get moderated to hell and eventually locked.

Ohh well... at least i'm posting in other sections more...

Can't remember the last time I closed a thread in motors or shot anyone down.

My point being... the moderators recent involvement in Motors in 'clamping down' has now killed the forum which means you don't have to anymore.

Congratulations. You've now created a banter free and dull library of information :)

Contridiction there.

You say "you don't have to" and then "You've created". Doesn't really make sense.

Either way you are coming across as right cheeky.

If that is "shooting someone down" then every member does it. I thought you were referring to a moderator shooting down as abnning/sus'ing etc. So really a mod "shooting down" is no different to a member in your eyes, which kinda makes your post a moot point.

No contradiction?

Now you don't have to due to having previously done something. - Is what he is saying, I don't see a problem there.

It's like scalding a child for doing something wrong, after a few times of being told off, the child won't do it because it knows it will be told off. So, because of what you've done (scald the child/banned people/closed threads) previously, you will not need to do it again (scald the child/banned people/closed threads) because the lesson has been learnt and it will avoid doing whatever it was doing that was naughty.

'fraid not sorry! :(

Booo.

Just being critical, which is allowed.
