***Offical Dead Rising 2 Thread***

I remember getting rid of DR 1 because i could'nt get on with the controls, but i love Case zero.

Have the controls changed as i cant remember the first one (had it in 2006).

I didn't notice much in the way of control difference tbh... I thought it just felt a bit more "fluid" for lack of a better word.
Something that highlights clunky control system in Dead Rising 1 is Frank's movement when at early levels. Painful.

I tried the Case Zero demo last night and found that it felt so much like the first game, I was expecting it to be quite different considering how long ago the first was.

While I did like the original, back when it was the first game I had on my Xbox 360, I think I'm a bit over it now. It just seems a bit repetitive smacking about zombies with literally everything, it doesn't actually feel that satisfying.

Dead Rising protagonist Frank West will make his triumphant return in a new downloadable epilogue for Dead Rising 2, Capcom's Keiji Inafune announced during the company's event at the Tokyo Game Show tonight.

The epilogue, titled, Dead Rising 2: Case West, is exclusive to Xbox Live. "Apologies to PS3 fans," Inafune stated via translator. Not much is known about the content, but It will involve Dead Rising 2's Chuck Greene and Frank West working together in some capacity. Inafune also said Dead Rising 2 - Case 0 has sold over 500,000 units since its launch on Xbox Live.

Inafune also revealed Capcom has purchased Blue Castle Games, developers of Dead Rising 2. The studio is being renamed to Capcom Game Studio Vancouver.

"We're really honored that Inafune-san sees potential in us," said studio president Rob Barret at the event.

Hopefully it will be as well priced as Case Zero.

Good news about them buying Blue Castle. They are obviously very pleased with what they did with DR2.

I assume there is some sort of review embargo as I have not seen any reviews yet? Whilst this seems to be becoming the norm these days, I am always hesitant when reviews are held back so close to release dates.

I spent hours on the 1st game, but am waiting for reviews before I decide to buy either F1 2010 or Dead Rising 2 this Friday.

There are magazine reviews, the one I read stated don't expect it to build on the first one, its just more of the same with combo weapons.

Id go further than that. Crackdown 2 was more of the same. Fair enough this uses a similar scenario etc but to its credit the game is damn good whereas crackdown 2 wasnt.

sidenote: Your xbox in germania yet :p

Only real change is a setting in the menu (something I believe a lot of people overlooked)

The default for Chuck when aiming any weapons is to aim in the camera direction.

In the first game it was set to the frankly (lol!) bizarre character direction.

This of course messed everything up and often left you aiming some 90 - 180 degrees in the wrong direction! :\

Pre-ordered this today.

Anyone know any details about the multiplayer/co-op and how it will work?

Indeed, the first one was Damn good and doesn't need much doing to it.

Nah, hopefully getting picked up tomorrow. :(

I think people can jump in whilst you're playing. Not sure if the gameplay changes in anyway and if they actually can help you or if it turns competitive.

Isn't the MP something to do with the 'Terror is Reality' gameshow?

I could have sworn I saw a video of an arena with Gladiator style giant hamster balls that you run around in killing zombies....

The Terror is Reality thing is a 4 player competitive mode. The co-op is the single player campaign that your mate can join at any time with their Chuck Greene (so it keeps all their level and clothes etc)

Sounds great, certainly better than Fable II's co-op where the person joining had to use a generic character :/

I've not been fortunate enough to get the game to review myself this time, but I know from a friend who has that the online reviews embargo, in this country at least, is the 24th, so the release date. That's not entirely uncommon as quite a few companies tell you to keep the review back until then.

Quick sum up:

Its more of the same goodness from DR1 but with some major framerate issues in the big areas.

That's cool, can't wait for my copy to arrive!

How have you got this game so early? Are you a reviewer?

I'm guessing you have a peg leg and a rather colourful bird.

Also might be worth removing your eye patch, I hear that can give framerate issues.

Of course if you have a legit copy feel free to post proof of it as per the guidelines and I will apologise to you.

I suspect though that you will blame a broken camera/not got one to hand/no upload space etc etc in being unable to provide a pic of the game disc/box.
