******* OFFICAL La Liga Thread *******

Amazing record but that defeat will probably cost him his job at the end of the season. His whole attacking ethos appears to be 'give the ball to Ronaldo' and without him they're nothing.

Well it was a long time coming for the Moaning one but was quite pleased to see him lose at home....saying that it was an amazing record he had:eek:.

Wouldnt be surprised if the Moaning one comes back to England next yr, the papers the past few weeks have been saying that hes coming back...where to though??...Man City??...Chelsea?? but would he go back to Chelsea with the way the Russkie treated him a few yrs ago??.

Barca are now 8 pts clear at the top...going to be very hard for Real to catch them and win the La Liga title tbh.

Interesting read earlier where Maurinho was saying ages ago the Gijon manager handed Barca the title/points for fielding a weakened team against them.

I believe it was the same team that won 1-0 last night again him and they have probably handed the title to Barcelona now, they certainly celebrated like they had.

Would like to see him manage a mid table side instead of going for teams with world class players. Imagine him at Stoke or Everton. :p

btw, RM play Barca in 2 weeks. :)

To be fair he is missing Higuain, and has to deal with Ade missing all the time :p

His job will be based on how he deals with the 3 head 2 heads with Barcelona coming up possibly in next few weeks or so.

I think Benzema has been doing great as a replacement to be honest.

Meh, he's ended up with an ok scoring record this season but that was a LOT of horrible performances, added to several high scoring performance with goals often put on a platter for him. Overall he's really not been very good, but certainly improving, for 18 months he was an epic failure, for the last month or two, not bad.

Kaka scored two goals tonight. Both pens thoughs.

Athletic Bilbao 0 - 3 Real Madrid

Barca vs. Almeria now. Iniesta playing upfront again.

Oh well, ALmeria went ahead, I can't quite decide but looks like a Villa dive has got them level very quickly, if there was contact it was, soft.

ANyway, Kaka and penalties, same story as last season to a degree, other people win penalties and Kaka seems to be handed them to stop him looking like such a bad transfer deal. Last season he was just rubbish, then given a few penalties though seemingly the team like him enough to do that. Still underwhelmed by him though obviously he's only been back from injury for a short spell.

3-1 Barca.

Messi scores his trade mark goal at the end by chipping the keeper. How the hell does he score these type of goals all the time? I have never seen anyone else score these type of goals so many times.

Barca - 81 points
RM - 76 points

and Barca have a game in hand.

When do we say that current players are in their "prime"? because if it's possible for Messi to top this years performance stats wise he will be just... something else. 45 games, 47 goals, 23 assists. It's the assists where he absolutely ruins CR... almost double!

Stats for Messi, or Ronaldo, will always be undermined by the general quality of the league (+ the fact Ronaldo's hardly been banging them in internationally recently). Ronaldo's haul in that season for Manyoo is arguably more impressive.

Thats debatable. THe epl has 4-5 strong top teams and the rest are pants. Really eeks me this la liga doesn't do defence stance.

:(

Only just realised that next wednesday's Cup Final is on at the same time as the North London derby - which game to watch??

The game that has Messi and Ronaldo in it.

April 16 (La Liga)
April 20 (Copa Del Ray Final)
April 27 (CL 1st leg)
May 3 (CL 2nd leg)

Going to be an interesting next couple of weeks. Could easily decide Jose's future at RM. To be honest, I can't see them beating Barca even once after being beat 5-0 in their first game under Jose. Game over, back to England he goes.

I cant see RM not winning atleast one of them but if their to win one of them i would bet on it being the Final imo.

Barca/UTD final for CL i reckon again and well Barca have got the La Liga title allready anyway

Would rather see Madrid/United in the final. Ronaldo back at OT would be special. He has already said he wants to go back there to play them in the final.

Id much rather see Madrid/UTD final also but i dont think its going to happen, But Jose is the manager for em so you just dont know allot of people couldnt see Inter beating Barca last year but they did.

pumped for the game today not sure how it will go and neither is anyone else for that matter.

2 important factors, Jose has all but conceded the league is over so will Barca rest players? Not so sure they will.

Winner of this game will have the mental edge over the other for the next few weeks. It could potentially be a stalemate but could also decide the others massively.

5-0 thrashing last time, if anything happens like that again (unlikely) it could really have a huge damaging effect.

Puyol has been named fit for the cup not sure about tonight, a huge boost for Barcelona and Kaka is getting his fitness back at the right time so swings and roundabouts.

The logical thing would be for Barca not to bother with this. Just don't lose greater than 5-0 as they look at head to heads.

Give their players another rest so they can now focus on the Spanish and European Cup.
