Alonso - Fouls Conceded 3, Fouls Won 2
Diarra - Fouls Conceded 6, Fouls Won 1
I love stats.
I take it you didn't watch the game then, at all?
Diarra was involved in almost everything, Diarra completely ran the game and Alonso was rubbish throughout, the few times he was called into action his tackling was poor, he gave away a blantant yellow card when there was one guy attacking with most of the back 4 still to go through, 35-40 yards from goal, it was a complete inept tackle.
Diarra ran the ball forwards, won the ball, was involved heavily in getting the ball forward, he was involved heavily in closing down and he played all over the pitch.
Just for the sake of pointing out that your stats don't change anything I said. Diarra came out with the ball, a few were called fouls that really weren't, a few were fouls, he still got the ball

ALonso was just so late he never came close to the ball, Diarra's a bulldog, he'll get the ball but sometimes get called a foul for agression though its worth pointing out I rarely see him do anything dangerous like De Jong, he tends to stay on his feet, he's stupidly strong for a tiny ickle guy.
Likewise I said Alonso missed most of his tackles, giving away less fouls doesn't make this true. Not every missed tackle is a foul, not every foul is a missed tackle. Someone could have given away 10 fouls all in tackles, but completed 20 others, while one person could give away 3 fouls(and get a yellow) for the only 3 tackles he made, and not complete one.
It really gets on my goat when people equat fouls and tackles as one and the same thing.
Not least because stats are based on ref's decisions, meaning fouls are just about the least accurate stat around.
Looking at Bale, did he get two yellows for two dives today for trying to get someone sent off, what about Pav?
As for being negative, its not negative. Today's Spurs/Chelsea game was devoid of almost any real quality, just end to end, it was competitive and exciting. Barca, in most games, walk the ball to the end of the field, wait for a mistake and walk it into the net, tell me where I said they weren't the best team, I didn't, just by and large they've become incredibly boring to watch. 9-1 demolishions are fantastic, if its your team, or its a general one off, when its every game, frankly its boring as sin, especially when the other team looks so scared of their own shadow they don't even make tackles.
I watched the Real game, or most of it, Real are prone to mistakes, defensively horrible and teams aren't "that" scared of them, it was competitive, I watched 15 mins or so of the Barca game, it was completely and utterly one sided, as almost every game I've seen them in for the past two years, I knew what result was coming, I was bored to tears 10 minutes in(to be fair, also rather worn out by football for the day) and just can't find that much enjoyment in a team winning that easily and that boringly with zero competitiveness at all.
