******* OFFICAL La Liga Thread *******

AM should have have 2 pens in the first half. Totally shocking refereeing. Blatant clip to the heels by Ramos(I think it was Ramos) in the box.

Shocking indeed, Pretty sure it was Ramos. Also the blatant pull down on one of their players in the 2nd half just before he got into the box, forget who it was? the ref was right next to it & didn't do anything about it.

The tackle from Ronaldo in the 2nd half was also pretty damn bad, Near enough as bad as Gerrards tackle on Carrick on the weekend.

The tackle on the Kun guy forget his last name was also bad & he didn't even give a freekick.

I thought Howard Webb was bad that ref took it to a whole new level last night.

Nope, it's fairly commonplace for Madrid to get several outrageous decisions their way per game. It's how it works in Spain, it's much worse than the bias here.

Also, the Ronaldo tackle was worse than the Gerrard one, he made contact, incredibly dangerous contact that could have really easily snapped his ankle. Gave Ujfalusi a taste of his own medicine as it's the exact tackle he made on Messi (he got a red for it, obviously a Real player wouldn't)

amazing Ronaldo hit the crossbar in 93rd minute, so bloody close to a penalty!

Barca with the chance to go 5 points clear

The La Liga refs are so incompetent it's beyond belief. They are much more easily influenced by the crowd reaction than the prem refs, they get more easily conned by dives and cheating (even though they should be more used to it and be able to spot it more easily), and break up the flow of the game with needless free kicks.

I have to say though that part of the problem is that players in La Liga on the whole lack discipline. I'm not surprised if in an average La Liga game the ref has to dish out 7 or 8 yellows, and sometimes it's worse.

If you regard 8 different players as "not that far", then sure.

I'm just saying. Barca's first team might wipe the floor with the opposition, but that's no reason to assume their backup will, especially when they've got a five-goal cushion on their side.

It's still not a reserve team, or a youth team. Any team that can start Messi, Xavi, Mascherano and Pique can hardly be called weak. Just surprised that such a strong side got beaten convincingly by a second division side.

Barca have a tendancy not to give a toss in games that don't matter. They often lose one leg of a cup game.

Mascherano isn't first team either. Only Messi, Xavi, and Pique are.
