***OFFICAL*** Left 4 Dead Thread!

Sorry if it's a daft question, but if you hit all 4 people with a boomer does it summon more infected than just hitting one? :confused:

Hope it's already been asked, then at least im not the only one wanting to ask :p
 
from what ive read the number of zombies on screen at once is limited to 30 thats why sometimes if you boom guys in a crescendo you get very little zombies in your horde cuz theres already so many on screen.

Not to mention the damage is crap.

Careful as it's not always necessarily a rage quit. There are plenty of system crashes in this game.
 
i read on the l4d forum yesterday...

if you're the tank and you crouch and stay still for say 10-15 seconds, the 'tank music' is turned off for the survivors, so you've got a bit more of a surprise element :)

For Truth.

The first time I got onto the server about 30 seconds in my game locked up with constant beep & I had to hard crash & reboot, By the time I got back on the server was full :(

Second time I had played a round or two I think & then it did the same :mad:

Since installing the 9.2's it hasn't crashed Yet :rolleyes: but still I'd be Gutted to think that people think/thought I quit like a *****.

I had a Great time the other night even though I could barely press the buttons on my keyboard through being so messed up & laughing to much but still no matter how bad a game I have/had I only quit when the door knocks/phone rings etc etc etc
Some of us live Alone & my Frank staffy dog don't answer the door or the phone, My Mates do randomly drop in on me as they know I am here alone with no Doris to be bothered by boys talk :p

Great game of Campaign with some OcUK Dudes last night, Cheers for that :cool:

Don't worry about it Knubje - I nabbed it when I saw you on the server last night :)

The servers are down at the moment whilst I do the overhaul I talked about. I'm installing an updated version of sourcemod and other bits and bobs. Should be up in an hour or two.

Spoke quite a lot with Seaniboy and d3cto last night about server stuff so we should have things looking nicer and with extra servers soon enough :)

That's cool, I haven't had a problem recently joining the OcUK servers with a group of lads. Although on the weekend it has been known to get a bit jammed!

Just need a quick link to guide me through the admin mod as I assume it's not direct console commands? Been a while since I admin'd a source game server (CS:S days).

TBH don't even need admin but I suppose it might be useful in times of need. Most of the time we can get by with just the voting options.

It's mostly so that there are more regular players (that seem responsible) on the servers, keeping an eye on things/making sure people behave :)

The admin menu can be reached in game via the console command "sm_admin". From there you should be able to various things. You'll also have kick vote immunity.

I'm possibly going to look at putting some more interesting plugins on there again but I'm just monitoring the servers for now as I'm fairly sure one of the old sourcemod plugins I ran was hammering the CPU.
