Office Arcade machine

Good afternoon Clockers,

I have been tasked to find our newly refurbished office an Arcade machine, obviously I can just google arcade machines and find one, but to be honest I don't have much (If any) experience with them.

So I am branching out for help..

We are a very diverse office With multiple nationalities and split very evenly between Male / female, so it would be ideal for it to be something anybody can pick up and play with minimal learning curve.

Any suggestions on machines themselves or reputable websites, would be greatly appreciated.

***EDIT*** Budget is up to around £700

Cheers

I'd wait a bit and get one of the new Atgame virtual pinball tables that are due Q4 this year. They've updated the size of the screen to 32" and 4K.

Are there modern arcade machines? I thought it was an 80s/90s thing, and last time I went to an arcade, it was full of fruit machines.

Also, I don't think that emulation talk is allowed on here. At least in the PC Games section, there is a rules thread which is stickied. It says that discussion of ROMs is a grey area because Nintendo/Sega/etc still sell their retro games on their digital platforms and this includes arcade games.

In an office setting, I like the idea of setting up a PC or a console with a digital subscription and hook it up to some retro joysticks or joypads. You can get Nintendo NES/SNES and Sega Megadrive style joypads and some work with bluetooth. The other option, as already mentioned up-thread is to go full retro with a pinball machine.

You could also arrange a yearly or twice-yearly "away day" which is usually team building tasks, where you could go to an all-you-can-eat arcade. This has an upfront cost then the machines are all free to play. I went to one in Blackpool last year but there are several others, so whichever one is nearest to your workplace @Chrisc

its a mini. you can get a stand for it........ its not ideal, certainly not for me being over 6 foot 2. great for kids though and takes a lot less room than my full sized cab (which with hindsite if i was building again i would slim down significantly.... a job for another day i think).

I believe the ones at Costco come with the riser. As standard they are just over 5 foot but the riser takes it to about 6 foot 2-3 in height (1.85m).

Also found another https://bitcade.co.uk/

They get good reviews on trustpilot.
