***Official 2010 F1 thread***

Someone posted this on Pitlanefanatic :D

You put the FOTA 8 in, you take the FOTA 8 out,
You have a list of entrants, then you shake it all about,
You do the hokey-cokey and you turn around,
Ferrari and the rest all want Max out

Everybody!

Wooaahh Max has gone crackers,
Wooaahh Formula 1 is knackered,
Wooaahh Max has gone crackers,
That's why they all want Max out! out ! out!

the problem is this do we or dont we attitude means it may be too late for next years FOTA to happen.

Unless they agree on a chassis freeze or something but since when have teams agreed on that?

any changes to next year’s rules would have to win the approval of the five non-FOTA members
The issue is that FIA instead said that the FOTA teams are observers only and cannot participate in the rules discussion period.

A breakaway is looking likely "again"; and Melbourne have just said they will not host a F1 race if FOTA leave :D

Bourdais, Barrichello & Todt - an update

Sébastien Bourdais' Formula One career with Toro Rosso has today officially come to an end. Bourdais' failure to realise his potential has been cited as the reason why the team have decided to release the Frenchman.

Rubens Barrichello has admitted that he over-reacted in his comments to the Brawn team after finishing a disappointing sixth in Sunday's German grand prix. "I was very upset," he wrote on the social networking website Twitter, "but I am over it now".

Jean Todt has today confirmed his candidature for the role of FIA president.

The Formula One teams' lack of enthusiasm for Max Mosley's choice of successor as FIA president was made clear by the sound of silence. As Mosley was lauding Jean Todt, the former Ferrari chief executive officer, as the best man for the job, the teams responded by keeping their own counsel. That wall of silence confirmed a deep-rooted suspicion that Todt is the favoured successor largely because he thinks like Mosley and, perhaps more worryingly for the teams, may act like him too.

Yeah really hoping French boy Todt doesn't take over....if there was ever a man that could rival Max (in muppetness) he would be it!

Todt took over at Ferrari in 1993. In the past two seasons, they'd won **** all and finshed 3rd (1991) and 4th (1992) in the constructors championship with a very difficult car.

1993 became a year to rebuild, they finished a distant 4th. In 1994, Berger won the German GP and Ferrari rose to a solid 3rd. In '95 they got another win, at Canada and again took a solid 3rd. That became a tight 2nd in '96 with the hiring of Schumacher, Brawn, Byrne et al (a reasonably smart move I would have said) and a fighting 2nd the next year. After two more seasons they were constructors champions, and the next year got both titles and began a period of domination.

Muppet? Balls. You could accuse him of many things (being a short-arse self-impressed git who's far too friendly with Mad Max to be sane would be a good start!) but he's hardly a muppet. He took Peugeot to the forefront of rallying and sportscars, and when they wouldn't make that leap up to F1 he upped sticks for Ferrari and took them to the top of the game. If he's a muppet then I'm a Chinaman.

怎么是这? ;)

No muppet, but one of the best cheats and liars in the business. Not the man to have at the top of the FiA to replace the guy we already have.
