***Official 2010 F1 thread***

They didn't get a 2010 slot so are just continuing to test and develop the car in hope of getting a 2011 slot.

Stefan GP get Toyota support

At first glance I assumed this Stefan GP was a new venture by Stefano Domenicali. lol Never heard of them, I don't know how they expect to be on the grid given all the places are taken.

There may well be a place available if/when Campos pull out/sell their entry. Surprisingly, USF1 and Virgin Racing are looking likely to start the season. Although Toyota officially have an entry still as they signed the Concorde agreement - if they suddenly decided to start up again they legally should be on the 2010 grid.

If a team does drop out during the season, Stefan GP could take their place. Stefan GP are odd though, they seemed to appear from pretty much nowhere and then sped an lot of time talking about being on the grid, with absolutely no evidence of having a car or even being in the process of designing one. This is the first step towards having a car that I've seen. These are also the guys who filed a lawsuit with the European Commission against the FIA's selection process.

Aside from the usual Euro-centric nonsense - why exactly is it a surprise that US F1 are looking like fulfilling their obligations and making the grid? They've got a decent workshop in Charlotte, NC. They've got a former Haas CNC technical director on the payroll, along with another director with Williams and Scuderia Ferrari on his CV.

As far as I can tell the only guy with any real clout who has actually taken a downer on the team is Bernie Ecclestone, and everyone on here thinks that Bernie is in fact the Devil incarnate. So they really ought to be behind the US F1 effort.

There's just something about them that has never really struck with me. Their complete and utter silence for so long didn't really help their cause. Signing Lopez is an interesting choice on their part though.

Lopez certainly has some potential - He's been a Renault development driver, but he's been away from F1 cars since 2006. They need a strong driver alongside him though.

I think all the sceptisism about usf1 has been entirely fueled by Bernies comments and the 'Team America' image that has been floatin about. That an the image that F1 is a european sport so its never really sat with some people that thw USA might be able to produce a team. If you actually sitg down and look at themv they seem to be gettin on fine. There is a lot more info about them about than any of the other new teams.

Makes sense really. Massa is the only one that can provide a decent comparison between the current and previous car's.

As soon as he steps out of the car for the first time, he'll get the important question from the engineers; "So is it still ****?"

I see Schumacher has already got the upper hand, shame we don't know the fuel loads etc.

I think this is lining up to be a corker
