***Official 2010 F1 thread***

Instead of a banner saying Hamilton or Button for Silverstone, I'm going to write For Sure on it and try and get on the telly.

I didn't quite understand how he could make such a bold statement. Best driver in a very good car (which we knew from pre-season testing) - how could he not win races or the title in 2010?

Just as bizzarre was JRS's prediction that Button will outscore Hamilton over the course of the season.

Apparently, he didnt make it, solely to get a reaction from me. He genuinely believes that Button will beat Hamilton, over the course of the season, on merit (ie. no extra ordinary events involved).

You can bet Alonso will be saying this at least 300 times this season :cool:

I wonder how much the reliability and cost modifications will also accidentally up the power and lower the fuel consumption?

JRS. Wait till we get down to the business end of the season - when Alonso/Ferrari are competing for the title and need assistance. I can almost guarantee there is going to be a race where Ferrari will receive outside assistance, especially if Hamilton/McLaren are the ones who Ferrari are competing against.

I do agree that Renault are receiving assistance, but at this point, its too early to say if this assistance will come to anything. Vettel/RedBull will be pulled back by the FIA, should they be the ones competing against Ferrari for the titles. My gut tells me though, that it will be Hamilton, as at present, I don't feel that Vettel has the ability to beat Alonso over the course of a full season. I could be wrong though as Vettel is still improving and if RedBull improve their car faster than Ferrari, then Vettel could be winning many races in a row, leaving everybody else fighting for 2nd place.

In summary, Renault have been assisted, but nothing has come of it...yet.
