Wouldn't be surprised to see Merc's "B Spec" come to fruition, unless they're sandbagging they actually look in a worse position than this time last year

They're about as far off as last year, but their problems this year look easier to address than last. Meanwhile, Hamilton has rubbished claims of a 'B-spec' car (and, as far as I can tell, the idea of a B-spec comes from a wild over interpretation of a comment from Wolff about bringing new parts in a few races).

Maybe but at least last year they were still firmly 3rd, it looks like Aston are ahead and even Alpine look reasonably close

The one thing that makes me highly skeptical of how reflective that 2nd practice session is, is Hulk in the Haas only a few tenths off the red bull's....

Not looking good for Mercedes but then again this is one of their weaker tracks for their car design philosophy. So if the gaps reoccur elsewhere they'll be more concerned I'm sure.

Nah they've messed up again and have a mid pack car at best now.
There is a reason Lewis has not signed any new contracts as he knows Merc is dead for the foreseeable future

Lance is absolutely useless. Dude prob forced his way back even though he hasn't recovered, then complains that he can't do better because his hand hurts.
I damaged my arms falling off a scooter two years ago. Driving was absolute agony for weeks.

Whilst I could do most things, rotating my wrists freely the way you naturally do on a steering wheel took ages to recover. I bet that's what he's feeling now - even with the bucket load of painkillers he's no doubt on.

Trying to drive so soon is just moronic. He'll be a liability to everyone else on the track.

Mike Elliott already coming out and repeating that they have new side-pods coming, if these updates don't make huge performance jumps then you're right.

Where can Hamilton go though.
