I think it'll be interesting to see with AM if this becomes a real breakout season for them (obviously not beating Red Bull but challenging the top 3 status quo) or they're doing a Haas from last year and turning up with an out of the box special that'll disappear back into the midfield as the updates progress.

Imagine they've got more money to throw at it than Haas though.

So either the FIA/Liberty have relaxed the COVID vaccination rules for the paddock, or Nico got vaccinated. Or could be the commentary box in Bahrain is outside the central paddock area.

Letting a little more hope creep in now that Alonso might actually have enough of a car under him to have a good go at things again this year.

The Aston Martin pace does seem quite genuine, of course once the serious stuff starts we need to wait and see..
Definitely does give me some hope because this is typically where you'd see them drop off. I still think RB has the most in reserve.

So really, everything is as expected. Except Aston Martin.

Alpine close with mclaren again, rbr in front.

Really. If it wasn't for AM it basically looks no different to last year.

Fun F2 race, I see trouble ahead for the F1 teams line-ups.

If Pourchaire wins, are Alfa kicking out Zhou or Bottas for him? Surely Red Bull must promote someone, so what do they do with de Vries and Tsunoda if they have impressive seasons? If Martins can take the season, do Alpine risk throwing away another future talent by sticking with their current drivers?

Alpines driver management is the worst outwardly visible aspect of that team.

To end up with gasley and Ocon when it could have been alonso and piastri is criminal. Or at the worst piastri and Ocon.

Seen nothing from Tsunoda so far to think he's anything special, always seems a proper stroppy **** on the radio as well, would be a terrible partner for the OG stroppy **** Max :p . He'll be on the chopping block after this season if he gets beat by De Vries.
