It’s funny how Verstappen fans suddenly have nothing to say when faced with irrefutable evidence of their guy cheating his way through the 2021 season.
Max cheated? Do all HAM fans also believe in flat earth theory and big foot?

On a thread-relevant note, I wonder whether Ocon will survive his contract renewal. Dude just isn’t good and Alpine are probably going to be more ruthless with this fresh investment (see Otmar).

He's been the better of their two drivers, is French, and did decently against Alonso. I think he's safe.
He only beat Alonso because Alonso had 5 retirements, plus additional issues with the car. I could also beat my teammate if he didn’t exist.

He’s definitely not a team player but Alpine have been so inconsistent this year that it’s difficult to see where they really are.

I didn't say "beat", I said "did decently against". Look at both seasons. He did respectably well against Alonso; that's a pretty good yard stick to measure up against.

He’s definitely not a team player

Now, that's very true. Ocon sure does like to drive into his teammates. If Alpine make a decent car there will be fireworks between him and Gasly. They seem to have put their history to bed for now, but it'll crack under pressure.

This is the spa thread. Not the relive the 2021 season thread and given Max has done absolutely nothing wrong in his driving there is nothing to discuss.
I want to live in your world, you are completely deluded. Ignorant to all things which go against your opinon it seems. I honestly wish I could be more like you appear to be, in day to day life.

Thanks for making me giggle this Sunday morning

Explain, how is this the 2021 Max thread? Max has done nothing wrong all weekend, what's your problem? Don't just make generic statements, explain. Why is 2021 Max being drawn into a conversation about a collision between Perez and Hamilton.

Will re-read this thread with popcorn later. Perez Vs Hamilton was really disappointing to see that penalised and that the stewards still will make such stupid decisions. You cannot, I repeat, cannot penalize based on the outcome for those referring to that. It has to be purely for the action. It was a racing incident end of. Perez in the interview was tragic. Salty af. When asked why he was slow even before the incident, he blamed it all on Lewis lol.

People here need to make up there minds one minute getting salty over 2021, the next crying over a poor uncompetitive season that once again sees Max completely dominate.

You can only dream of getting a season like 2021 again in F1. Its pretty much a once in a decade event. Stop pretending it's not!

The Ham pen was a bit harsh, but w/e it's a sprint race...it really doesn't matter

Norris is very good, we'll see how good through the rest of the season If piastri keeps up this form, but so far Norris has had him beat this season

I predicted before the season began that Piastri would be regularly beating Norris by the end of the season. I think that's exactly what we're going to see. Norris is talented, but he isn't best-of-the-best talented.

Norris has been putting the car where it doesn't deserve to be week in week out pretty much for the past couple of seasons

Has he? Or has he been putting the 4th best car about where it should be, while his highly-rated teammate proved unable to adapt to the characteristics of the car and flattered Norris' performances as a result?

I'm not sure how you can say piastri is the real deal based on 1 good result

I'm not basing it on 1 good result. I'm basing it on watching him race in '20 and '21. True, he was lucky (or I guess more accurately Logan Sargeant was unlucky) to win F3, but his F2 title was well earned, and you don't get three consecutive championship victories for nothing. Of course, we've seen drivers before who impressed in Junior but couldn't cut it at F1 levels, but Piastri is already beginning to show that that's not the case with him. It's harder than ever for rookies in F1 with minimal testing, and shorter practice sessions but he's getting up to speed with impressive rapidity.

Dr proved he wasn't the real deal when driving the McLaren, he's very lucky red bull are giving him another crack at the whip.

He is. I thought his career was over; now it looks like he's going to end the careers of De Vries and Tsunoda instead.

The point some people are trying to make, I think, at least I am is Perez had space to move and avoid a collision or back out on the out side as Hamilton was level (based Ant Davidson analysis). It was always possible Hamilton was going to understeer to some degree in the wet. The reference to the Max clip was only shown to show what Perez could have done to avoid a collision when it was obvious something was going to happen. The fact it was Redbull, Max or 2021 is completely irrelevant to the point the clip is trying to show.

I personally, have no problem, but you come across as quite agressive and negative towards to Hamilton in general. In addtion your opinion is fact and nothing can or seemingly will alter it. People are just trying to discuss in this instance a penalty was harsh considering it was sprint race and in the wet, similar to how they are more lenient on the first lap.

Piastri needs to back up his qualifying results with a decent drive on a Sunday. Don't think he's maintained or gained a position for months. I'd put money on Norris to finish ahead of him today too. We shall see.

Here's where the contact was made, yet you expect Perez (who is ahead) to move over even further or back out hahaha. Even before where the collision occurred when they were almost level there is no onus on perez to have to move out of the way. We went racing Jimbeam. Come on stop being so silly. It's Hamilton's fault, don't try now switching blame to Perez. The screenshot and video says it all to try and blame Perez is sheer delusion.

The retirements and car issues did Alonso out of something like 50-70 points, even then was 9 points in it.

Ocon was also comfortably beaten by Dani Ric remember.
