I thought the collision with Piastri was very clearly Hamilton's fault and really quite clumsy. Shame, because the actual overtake was a brilliantly thought out and worked move.
Yea, it was, but then it becomes a " Ha..Lewis cant over take ever at all if he doesnt have the fastest car", Lewis makes a mistake and its all over him, other drivers dont get talked about in teh same way. Even phoned him to apoligise for it.

Show me where I said he can never overtake. You need to chill your beans and stop being so insecure. He's been involved in quite a few little incidents since the Merc is not the fastest car which is frankly understandable but nothing wrong with pointing it out.

So you'll do that with every driver that does it?

Unless they somehow manage McLaren to part with Lando Norris I just don't see who else is going to remotely challenge Max in that car, its certainly not going to be Ricciardo, Lawson or Tsunoda.

If Bernie was still in charge of F1 he'd probably be offering Red Bull some kind of incentive to get Alonso in the car or something!

You've written Lawson off after two races, that seems pretty harsh to me!

Yeah, not entirely sure what he was thinking there, but even 7 time world champions can make mistakes. Seems like an honest case of spatial misjudgement to me? Didn’t seem like there was anything malicious in it - just a driving error.

I feel some of the comments coming out of Mercedes at the moment are low class and unnecessary.

That being said, I do feel like Hamilton kind of has a point with Max never having a team mate on an “equal footing” - he has never been tested by a super capable team mate but then that isn’t Max’s fault, that’s just how RBR work, a little like Ferrari have worked traditionally.

After all said and done RBR have absolutely nailed it in the last couple of seasons and are collectively doing everything right.

I just hope there is nothing that comes out in the wash to sully their performance and that it has been a genuine case of getting it spot on in the new(ey) era!

I haven't to be fair, I just meant he's not going to be challenging Max next season is he, even if he was in the same car.
He's got no chance of being in the Red Bull next season although I think he will be in the AT seat.

Fair. Even Piastri would struggle dumped into that Red Bull seat.

I've been impressed by Lawson in these two races. He's certainly not embarrassed himself. I'd largely written off his chances of getting a seat in F1, but I think he's doing enough to make a case for himself.

That's true, personally I think Lawson is a real talent and will be a future World Champion if he gets the opportunity. There are massive changes coming to Alpha Tauri in 2024, I hope the New Zealander is part of them.

Really? What makes you think that? In the closest comparison to F1 - Formula 2 - he managed just one point more than Logan Sargeant - and that was Logan's rookie season and Lawson's second. Lawson seems to be very adaptable - look at the range of competitions he's raced in - but I don't think he's got the pace that suggests future WDC.

Fair enough, I know which driver I would rather have in my car if I owned a Formula One team. I guess time and opportunity will tell the full story.

He literally said the week before, stats mean nothing to him when referencing Mercs domination. He got asked a question and he answered it.

He'd be licking Hamilton's backside if it was him that was breaking the record. Do you really think Toto would say such records are irrelevant if it was his own drivers breaking them? Not a chance.

He absolutely has a point and there’s a short video on Sky’s YT with Rosberg (yeah ok), Naomi and Brundle agreeing entirely with him. Hamilton has raced with three world champions in the same team, Verstappen zero.

I actually liked Brundle’s comment that perhaps Hamilton is going to be a bit less filtered now and say what he really thinks. I’d like to see some of that fire back.

I’m pretty sure Toto just does it to wind Horner up. And you can hardly blame him.

Enjoyed the race very much. Much better than previous ones.
Is Piastri the most chilled driver ever? Gets his front wing knocked off and reports it over the mic like it's no big deal at all.
Doesn't seem to matter what happens, he's completely non-vexxed :D

Watched highlights. Was OK.
Miss f1tv though. Not really into f1 especially since f1tv was taken away.

Alpine were dire.
Sainz and Albon did really well. Glad. Leclerc didn't pip sainz. Because I bet he damaged his tyres (sainz) giving something to watch.

I really have to question what Alpine or Renault are actually getting out of their F1 involvement at this point, it can't be long until that team gets sold again.
