Lol, forgot that they lap about 1.5-2 seconds slower than they actually can here just to draw out the tyre stints.

Yup. There’s nearly always an incident on lap 1 at Monaco, so it’s usually 1 or 2 places gained, then not having to pit the entire race. Just has to keep it out of the barriers and he should get some points for the team.

It only works because people aren't pushing. Otherwise field spreads out and it is a terrible strategy (would be better to overcut).

On full fuel, and with maximum tyre management they just don't really look that fast around here. I know they are fast, but it's all very pedestrian looking.

It will all start to change now Perez has caught Stroll, but right now Perez is virtual 3rd after one pit stop.
