Just seen the tyres graphic on BBC from a post at 1326, apparently Alonso doesn't have a single fresh pair of tyres for the race... Doesn't bode well for first corner shenanigans with Max, if they aren't all forced to use a wet tyre.

This was common by AM last season. Some loop hole about being able to run the tyres in blanks longer/or for an additional cycle of something like that if they were used. Don't know if that same still applies.

What happens if it starts raining during the formation lap? Is the start aborted, so they can all switch to wet tyres?

Hopefully not. Had this previously at Monaco, and in general the FIA are becoming soft with this stuff.

Would be like Hungary a year or so ago (where it went from Inters to Dry on the formation lap), drivers could pit but start doesn't get aborted, everyone pitted except Hamilton

I’m not a huge RBR fan, but there’s a lot of disgust about the guy swearing on Twitter.

It’s a live pit lane, with tensions running high. And far too many idiots on the pit lane. It’s a bit of a joke.

Surprised perez in on medium. Seems a bad call to me.
Medium is of little benefit at back. Can't understand that
