Didn’t watch it but congrats to Piastri. I was ready to hate him after all the signing/twitter nonsense but he is coming across as a decent driver and a decent guy too.

As someone said above, McLaren should get some sort of medal for the best in-season development. It’s been unreal.

And good points for Lewis and a bit of luck. If he can snatch P2 in the championship that’d be amazing. I’d say it should shut up the haters but of course it won’t!
 
Really glad piastri win.
Like him much more than norris.

Could not believe how many started in the soft. I saw both alpines start in it and knew they'd shafted themselves. And it would have been waaaay worse. Without the safety car.

That 3 into 1 was a racing incident for me.

Shame for hulk. He was on mediums and in a great position

It's been about 2 hours since they went to the stewards, still nothing on the FIA site.

No final classification either. So there must be a bit of an argument going on about it.

But, we do have this regarding the tyres.

 
No further action on Hulkenberg.

Looks like it's just going to be a racing incident for all 3 of them.

[edit] Confirmed no further action for Perez and Ocon too - racing incident.

Yeah I agree. I suppose the plus side is you get a little bit “extra” F1 over an extra day, which is always nice. I wonder what it’s like live with the new format, been to many races but never a sprint. I’m a bit too old now for long weekends away camping watching F1. Don’t think my body would hold up! :p
 
That was quite entertaining. Shame.abput the safety cars taking away half of it though.

Soft tyres were a BAD choice. Imagine if they didn't have the safety cars! The soft runners would have all been taken over most likely.

Weirdly, the safety cars ended up making it a better race just because of that, even if they did waste half the laps.

I thought one or 2 might try soft. I did not expect any of the top runners to.

Glad they did as made it exiting. But means absolutely no one will tomorrow.

I was sad. Alpine started in it. And both drivers too. Crazy!
 
Got to question George's strategic thinking sometimes.

How on earth did he think boxing would be a good idea, when he would have had 4/5 laps left to overtake the entire field.

It's a good job his team told him it was stupid. He still got fourth, but would have been well out of the points if he boxed.
