But then I guess who do you use as a stop gap? Bring back Stoffel for a year? I can't see many drivers with ambition happy to go to Mercedes when they know Mercedes already have who they want and re just waiting it out
At this point its not as if any other team is going to take him for 2025 anyway if Merc don't - they could easily just have him another year in F2 /reserve.

They were running a floor comparison between the cars. Can't imagine they got much useful data there unless they wanted to know how durable it is.

Will GR have a car ready for FP2?
It's great to give rookies some F1 lap time, but let teams run a third car for the rookie, even if only two drivers from a team can take part in a session.

so second crash on that corner where the car spins the exact same way...have they inspected it properly because surely something funky is going on
F3 have split up their Qually sessions into 2 sessions like they do at Monaco to prevent any drafting/going slow funny business for the full pack.
Drivers did it anyway, which resulted in drivers crashing into each other.

Completely agree on this. I've seen absolutely nothing special about the kid that warrants anywhere near the level of hype about him. I'll happily eat my words if he comes out of the gates swinging next year, but I really cannot see it.

The SC incident was a brake failure. The Kimi incident was because he went in far too fast.
