Nah, he's no Piastri, but I really hope he gets a seat. Like Lawson he's proved himself well worthy of a seat.
I'm not so sure, I get serious Alonso vibes from Franco. Obviously he's not had the time as yet to really show what he's capable of. However I feel like time is going to be kind with this one. Give him a chance in proper machinery (anyone but RBR please...) and I think we can very well see a prospective future champ. I suppose its easier to perform when there is no expectation on you but he's been driving far an above what you should realistically expect so far.

Released from medical centre now.
Looked like right half was just over the kerb, twitched and kept bottoming out.
Lot of damage to repair on the car.

(Also Russell: can't believe it, wall turned into me!)

Max still with engine issues, might make things more interesting.

Schwartzman gets a 5 grid place penalty from FP1 which he'll serve.... Never? And Albion gets away with careening into Bearman and ruining his session, guess the Stewards thought Alex had punished himself enough? Might get his lead in the destructors championship back, though.

"Regarding the incident, I think Ollie got told that I was behind him too late and tried his best to speed up into the high-speed corners, but I just caught him at the worst part of the track and there wasn’t much I could’ve done to avoid it." - Albon sure has a funny way of saying "I made an entirely avoidable error, and wrecked another driver's session. I'm sorry to him and to the team for all the extra work I caused them".

Genuine question is there a time limit on penalties? could Schwartzman conceivably get a race seat in a 2026/27 and have to serve the penalty then?

There's no limit on penalties, so yes, if he ever gets a race seat he'll have to serve that penalty in his first race.

Similarly, if Jenson ever comes back to F1, which seems increasingly unlikely now, he'll have to serve a penalty for punting Pascal Wehrlein in to the barrier in Monaco when he subbed in for Alonso. At least he's not the sole holder of that badge now.

No to the first, but I think Shwartzman's chances of a race seat are zero to none. I suppose he might get a stand-in role for one of the Ferrari engined teams that share his services as a reserve driver, but I suspect that - like with Bearman - they'll prefer one of the others over him.

They’ve just said on Sky, what wifey and I said the first time we saw him.

Franco has that look of a young Senna. He looks a bit like him, his eyes have that same intensity.

I’m glad we’re not the only ones who noticed.
