**Official 3D Mark 11 scores**

haha your a long way off buddyboy:D

i wonder if cpu multithreading hinders gpu score on this? im clocked above 1200mhz for the gpu yet scores lower?

The strange thing I found was the higher I pushed my CPU, the harder it was to push either of my 680's. If I ran my CPU at stock, it was so easy to reach 13200+ on the GPU but as soon as I get the CPU up to 5Ghz, the GPU would seriously struggle breaking 13K.

Maybe the extra stress on components but no idea. 8 Pack may know.

I would imagine that the more you push the CPU the more unstable your PCIE lanes become. Remember they are using volts and amps (the PCIE slots).

This used to be a big problem years ago with early Crossfire boards, so they would put a Molex connector above the PCIE lanes to make sure they remained stable when the board was being pushed hard.

I would imagine the only way to help it would be to buy a true high end and top of the range board. Not sure what you are running now btw.

I have the RIVF which has a molex connector for SLI. I am sure you are on to something though. I have tried with the molex in and out and it doesn't make a difference (I keep it in just in case).

I ran with 2 seperate PSU's for each card when massively over volting just in case this would make a difference (pulling 1150W from the wall with everything clocked up).

It is just strange how 1 card with a stock CPU will score considerably more than with the CPU overclocked.

have the 310.xx drivers made overclocking worse on 680s or am I just being dumb?

I cant seem to reach my air clocks even though I'm on water and 40-60 degrees cooler on load. Same volts etc.

Cards have been running at stock mostly..

The second card keeps dropping to sub ghz core, causing a stutter, before ramping back up to my boost 0_o. When this happens at an intense part 3dmark/heaven will crash the driver/hardlock pc.

On the newer drivers, I had the same problem as you (with not reaching air clocks). I went back to trusty ol 306.23 and still the same. I wiped the drivers totaly and reinstalled them and could clock more than air.

Mine don't ramp down though, so maybe another issue?

I just need bumping up one place :)

Oops :) That puts your 7850 above Humbugs 7870 in the overall scores :)

I've had a good play about with the memory tbh Tone. I'm sure someone with more experience like 8Pack, Greg or pgi could get more from it but i think its close to the limit. Need to decide if its worth selling the ram in MM market and if i can recoup enough to buy 8gb of sammy green. :D

For gaming purposes, it isn't. You wouldn't notice the difference between 1600Mhz ram and 2400Mhz. Stick with what you have Matt :)

@ Dockie. Your score is fine. It shows me if VirtuMVP is used and it wasn't on your run :)

I asked for the GPU-Z link as well but no real point, as this can be added after the run with nothing going on in the background. This is something I shant enforce for adding scores but still good to add, so others can see your clocks and compare.

It seems i've completely misread my score anyway

I forgot it was the overall score that was taken, not the GPU score. Damn, the worst score for a 7950 on there, and its down to the BD :(

Oh well, itll do for me untill Steamroller is out :p

There is a section for the GPU scores (spoiler). I thought you may have read something wrong when you said 'top 50' :p

All good and so long as it plays well in games, you have no worries.

Hey Gregster how it going?

I'm just having a mess around with my bios and also switched to some old drivers to run 3dmark11 but its saying driver not approved (305.68) and before I go any further trying to improve my scores.....

Does it still count on your score board?

beta drivers are fine :) and try with any driver you like beta or not.

@ Kapp, nice temps on those cores. I can see water cooling makes a difference on the mobo and when you start smashing volts through, I can imagine a non water cooled mobo like mine will soon get hot.

I use HWmonitor as well. Good info and pretty accurate from reviews. Not sure on others though.

Sorry Gregster, seems I did have a small amount of room for overclocking the GPU, an extra 300 points over yesterdays result on the GPU only score which lifts me from 36th to 6th :)

3DMark Score 11773
3DMarks Graphics Score 13043

All scores updated and great score on that 7970. Welcome to the 13K club :)
